Deeper Life Daily Manna 21 March 2018 Devotional by Pastor Kumuyi

Topic: Keep Off!

Bible Text: 1 John 2:12-19 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2:15).

Message: The safest way to keep off danger is to stay far off from it. It is foolishness to play with certain elements that portend great danger with the hope to escape from it before it consumes one. Dangerous zones are usually cordoned off with the warning sign: *”DANGER: KEEP OFF”*. Anyone who ignores such a warning and ventures into such areas will have himself to blame for whatever hurt he suffers. (Deeper Life Daily Manna 21 March 2018)

There is no spiritual state a Christian attains that immunes him from the dangers of the world; hence, the pertinent warning to all categories of believers to stay off the love of the world because the more it prevails, the more the love for God decays. One sad thing about all the glamorous things of the world is that they are all vanities, transient and unsatisfying.

Keep Off! – Deeper Life Daily Manna 21 March 2018 Devotional by Pastor Kumuyi

To keep safe from the world, the best thing to do is not to open the heart to it. The vanities of the world are so alluring and their effects so pervasive, corrosive and destructive. The love of the world and the love for God are mutually exclusive and incompatible as one will certainly displace the other. As long as a boat keeps water out of it, it can sail safely on the water. But as soon as the water begins to get into the boat and it is left without bailing, the boat is sure to sink. The Christian is in the world and will have to pass through the world before he lands safely on heaven’s shore. He is safe as long as he does not allow the world – sinful and immoral pleasures, indulgences, covetousness, love of money, pride, vain-glory and so on to get into him.

Thought For The Day: Keep off the world to stay safe in the world!

Be careful with how you deal with people – the person you deal with today may invite people to deal with you tomorrow! (1Sam. 30:1-19)
It is confirmed that good character is far more profitable than bad character

4. Godly character opened the door for Moses (Exo. 2:15-22,3:1)

Topic: Only God Can Truly Satisfy

Scripture: And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true [they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy].” – Revelation 21:5 (AMP)

Message: Nothing can satisfy your longing for God except communion and fellowship with Him. The apostle John wrote, And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever (1 John 2:17 AMPC).

Joyce Meyer 18 September 2018 Daily Devotional – Only God Can Truly Satisfy

The world makes it easy for you to fill your ears with all kinds of things that drown out the voice of God and push Him far into the background of your life. However, the day comes for every person when only God remains. Everything else in life eventually passes away; when it does, God will still be there. Seek God earnestly today, and He will abide in you.

Joyce Meyer 18 September 2018 Daily Devotional – Only God Can Truly Satisfy

Prayer Starter: Father, I desire a deeper, closer relationship with You. Help me to make You a priority today and every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Topic: Our Life Belongs to God

Scripture: Matthew 22:20-21 “And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”

Text: Matthew 22:20-22

Message: The image on the denarius, the only small silver coin acceptable for imperial tax payments, was probably that of Tiberius Caesar (reigned A.D. 14-37). The inscription upon the coin read “Tiberius Caesar Augustus, Son of the Divine Augustus” with the reverse side reading “Chief Priest.” This inscription was a claim to divinity and as emperor, the right to be worshiped.

The Jews had tried many times to accuse Jesus on the basis of religious issues and had always failed. Now they approached Him about paying taxes in hopes that His answer might give them the opportunity to deliver Him to Pilate for prosecution.

Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional 18 September 2018 – Our Life Belongs to God

These Pharisees and Herodians reasoned that any answer that Jesus gave would be wrong. If He approved of the Roman taxes, then He would lose popularity with the masses. If He spoke against the Roman taxes, then the Jews would hand Him over to the Roman government and Pilate would dispose of Him. It looked like they had Jesus trapped. Jesus, however, answered with such simple wisdom that these Pharisees and Herodians were caught in their own trap and made to look like fools.

Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional 18 September 2018 – Our Life Belongs to God

Jesus declared, “Render (give back) to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Mk. 12:17). People are made in God’s image, so we must render to God the things belonging to God (our lives) and to Caesar the things belonging to Caesar (his money and other benefits of his rule).
