Kentucky woman bags 20 years in prison for punishing her 14-year-old daughter by 'forcing her to consume so much alcohol'

35-year-old Miranda Polston from Kentucky was recently sentenced to 20 years in prison after being charged with forcing her 14-year-old daughter to drink alcohol as punishment.

Polston was arrested in March in Pulaski County and charged with first-degree criminal abuse. She was actually on probation for a felony when she was accused of forcing her daughter to drink alcohol.

As a result of that, a hearing was held and the judge decided to revoke her probation, sending her to prison for a 20-year sentence.

During the hearing in court, Somerset police revealed that Miranda Polston caught her daughter drinking alcohol on Mar. 10. and decided to punish her by forcing her to drink alcohol to the point of “extreme intoxication to get her sick.”

In the video, the woman was heard saying she could be on MTV and would get $1 million if she kept drinking.

The Investigators said they heard the victim making a “gurgling sound” in the video when being fed more alcohol. She then fell face first on the floor before everyone started laughing.

It was also claimed by WKYT that the disturbing video shows the highly-intoxicated young girl being held up in a chair so she doesn’t fall off as she yells ‘no’. But she ended up being fed with more alcohol.

Speaking to authorities, Polston said she wanted to teach her daughter not to drink because alcohol is bad for her.

  • Man arrested for turning his teenage daughter into his sex slave for 2 years

A father has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for consistently having sex with his teenage daughter’s for 2 years.

The man deflowered his daughter in 2016 when she was 14 and continued having sex with her till 2018 when the victim exposed him. It was gathered that the victim bore the trauma and found it difficult to expose her father because of the ‘shame’ it will bring to the family.

However, when she could not bear it any longer she exposed him. He was then arrested and detained at the Gender Section of the State Police Command, Lagos.

During interrogation, he was said to have initially denied until the victim was brought before him and he reportedly confessed. He then pleaded for forgiveness claiming that he was tempted by the devil to do so.

The police found his action culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement and incest.

The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the defendant was the father of the victim and requested that the file be sent to DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, did not take his plea and bail because of the seriousness of the offence.

The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.

Meanwhile, the victim was said to have been taken to the rehabilitation centre for treatment.

Fearless 84-year-old man helps fight off three armed robbers in Ireland

An 84-year-old great-grandfather has been hailed a hero after he single-handedly fought off three thieves who tried to rob a shop in Ireland.

Pensioner Denis O’Connor, was inside Bar One Racing bookmakers in Ireland, when three masked men, believed to be in their late teens or 20s, burst in wielding a gun and two hammers. One of the masked men hurled himself straight over the counter with a hammer and attacked manager Tim Murphy who was sitting behind the counter. The other one pointed a gun at Mr O’Connor, while the third ran round the side of the counter.

In the footage, obtained from CCTV cameras at 6.30pm on September 15, most of the people inside the bookies can be seen scrambling to flee, but Mr O’Connor, from Glanmire in County Cork, stood up to the men, despite having a shotgun pointed at his face.Fearless 84-year-old man helps fight off three armed robbers in Ireland (video)

He is seen in the footage going round the counter to fight off the armed raiders attacking the manager. The pensioner attempts to grab a hammer being held by one of the robbers and in doing so manages to pull him away and chase him out of the shop. He goes on to grab one of the chairs and uses it to threaten the gunman before heading back behind the counter to help Mr Murphy. The third attacker, visibly panicked by this point, then attempts to run out but stumbles, causing Mr O’Connor to kick him up the bum and shove him out of the door.

The courageous actions of Mr O’Connor and Mr Murphy meant that all three left the Crestfield bookmakers empty-handed.

Mr O’Connor has been hailed as a hero for his brave action. He put his brave response down to instinct, telling the Irish Independent that he didn’t even think before jumping in.

He said:

When I saw them confronting him (Mr Murphy), I just acted.

I didn’t really think about it. I just wanted to help him out.

Boko Haram terrorists have killed one of the health workers kidnapped from Kala-Balge, Borno State. Saifura Khorsa, a 25-year-old midwife with the International Committee of Red Cross was kidnapped along with two other health workers in Rann, Kala-Balge Local Government Area of Borno State in March this year.

Reacting to the development, Red Cross condemned the killing of Saifura Husseini Ahmed, who was abducted in Rann, Borno State, on March 1, 2018. Ahmed was shot from behind by a member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), a faction of Boko Haram.

In August, the three health workers begged Pres. Buhari to rescue them from captivity, saying Boko Haram had given them the “final warning”.

The insurgents claimed that they had contacted government over the captives but did not get any response. “We contacted the government through writing and also sent audio messages but the government have ignored us. So, here is a message of blood. The other nurse and midwife will be executed in similar manner in one month, including Leah Sharibu,” said a spokesman of the group in the execution video.
