An Indian man who suspected his wife of cheating hacked off her head and carried it to the police station to confess to her murder.
Satish, 35, went to the police station in the town of Ajjampura in southern India with a machete and a bin bag. On getting there, he pulled the severed and bloody head of his wife Roopa from the bag and waved it by its hair as disgusted officers shouted at him to put it back away.
He obeyed the police and put the head away before pulling it out again closer to the camera.
It was reported that when he got into the station, he said:
This is my wife, sir. I gave her all the love I could.
He then replaced the head in the bag before telling cops that his wife was cheating on him and he had lost his temper after seeing her with another man. The complained that Roopa had chosen his rival, named as Sunil, over him despite the fact the man was a manual worker with a criminal record. He also told cops that Roopa had even taken out a loan for 300,000 INR – about £3,170 – and given the money to her lover.
Cops had to calm Satish down so they could begin taking his statement and launch a formal murder investigation.
Satish has been remanded in police custody after showing officers where he had left the rest of his wife’s body.

Three killed, beheaded in fresh cult violence in Rivers
At least, three people have been reported killed and beheaded in fresh cult violence at Ubimini community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Sources close to Ubimini gave the names of the victims as Eddy Dogwo, also known as Bakasi; one Odugbo Didia and a third victim whose nickname was given as Things Change.
Sources gathered that the young men were killed by members of a rival cult gang that invaded the community in the early hours of yesterday.
Our source disclosed that the attack might be a reprisal for the killing of an Ubimini cult leader at Egbeda community, which he said had caused fear and tension in the area ever since.
Elsewhere, around Ogoni axis of Rivers State; there have also been reports of violence at Bomu and Lewe communities in Gokana Local Government Area, with at least one person feared dead and several others injured.
It was gathered that buildings were also destroyed at Lewe community, including the structure housing the Universal Basic Education School.
The violence appears to be an offshoot of boundary dispute between the communities, and for which the Rivers State Boundary Adjustment Committee has been trying to resolve.
Last month, a similar violent attack at Bomu claimed the life of at least three people, with some valuables destroyed and the symbol of traditional authority of the community stolen.
A member of the Council of Chiefs and Elders of Lewe Community, Chief Monday Meedom, confirmed the latest attack in a telephone conversation with our correspondent.
Chief Meedom said unknown gunmen invaded the community in the early hours of yesterday, shooting indiscriminately, which forced inhabitants to scamper for safety.
When contacted, spokesman of the Rivers state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incidents.
Omoni however said personnel have been deployed to Ubimini and Lewe communities.
Man arrested for turning his teenage daughter into his sex slave for 2 years
- Man arrested for turning his teenage daughter into his sex slave for 2 years
A father has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for consistently having sex with his teenage daughter’s for 2 years.
The man deflowered his daughter in 2016 when she was 14 and continued having sex with her till 2018 when the victim exposed him. It was gathered that the victim bore the trauma and found it difficult to expose her father because of the ‘shame’ it will bring to the family.
However, when she could not bear it any longer she exposed him. He was then arrested and detained at the Gender Section of the State Police Command, Lagos.
During interrogation, he was said to have initially denied until the victim was brought before him and he reportedly confessed. He then pleaded for forgiveness claiming that he was tempted by the devil to do so.
The police found his action culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrates court for defilement and incest.
The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the defendant was the father of the victim and requested that the file be sent to DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, did not take his plea and bail because of the seriousness of the offence.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
Meanwhile, the victim was said to have been taken to the rehabilitation centre for treatment.

Fearless 84-year-old man helps fight off three armed robbers in Ireland
An 84-year-old great-grandfather has been hailed a hero after he single-handedly fought off three thieves who tried to rob a shop in Ireland.
Pensioner Denis O’Connor, was inside Bar One Racing bookmakers in Ireland, when three masked men, believed to be in their late teens or 20s, burst in wielding a gun and two hammers. One of the masked men hurled himself straight over the counter with a hammer and attacked manager Tim Murphy who was sitting behind the counter. The other one pointed a gun at Mr O’Connor, while the third ran round the side of the counter.
In the footage, obtained from CCTV cameras at 6.30pm on September 15, most of the people inside the bookies can be seen scrambling to flee, but Mr O’Connor, from Glanmire in County Cork, stood up to the men, despite having a shotgun pointed at his face.
He is seen in the footage going round the counter to fight off the armed raiders attacking the manager. The pensioner attempts to grab a hammer being held by one of the robbers and in doing so manages to pull him away and chase him out of the shop. He goes on to grab one of the chairs and uses it to threaten the gunman before heading back behind the counter to help Mr Murphy. The third attacker, visibly panicked by this point, then attempts to run out but stumbles, causing Mr O’Connor to kick him up the bum and shove him out of the door.
The courageous actions of Mr O’Connor and Mr Murphy meant that all three left the Crestfield bookmakers empty-handed.
Mr O’Connor has been hailed as a hero for his brave action. He put his brave response down to instinct, telling the Irish Independent that he didn’t even think before jumping in.
When I saw them confronting him (Mr Murphy), I just acted.
I didn’t really think about it. I just wanted to help him out.
