Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven. Psalm 148:13

Open Heavens 11 September 2018 Bible Reading – Job 38:3-12

3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?

9 When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,

10 And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

12 Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;

Bible in One Year – Proverbs 5-8, Mark 6:7-29 – Open Heaven 11 September 2018

Message: A name is not just a label; more importantly, it is an identity. Names are very important to God, and this is why it is important to search the Scriptures to discover more about God’s identity through His Names.

Names are dear to God’s heart. In Revelation 1:8, He Himself revealed some of his Names to us, saying

“I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord , which is and which was and which is to come, the Almighty.”

Furthermore, in God’s dialogue with Job in Job chapter 38, He asked him some frightening questions which reveal that he is the Alpha and the Omega. It goes without saying that He is the one who made the mountains, the oceans and all the other big and small things we see in nature.

We also understand that He is older than the oldest, because by Him were all things created. He saw the beginning of everything on earth, good and bad, and He will also see their end because He is the Alpha and Omega in Jesus’ Name.

In 1 Samuel 1:3, the Almighty is called the Lord of host. In the past, I used to think this meant that He is the Lord of the host of heaven, but recently, He let me know that ‘Lord of Hosts’ means the Lord of all hosts, whether in heaven, hell, the earth, the seas, underneath the earth, and even other galaxies in the universe.

Nobody can oppress His children because one command from Him can make life so unbearable for even the greatest king on earth. If you don’t believe me, ask Pharaoh (Exodus 5-11).

Open Heavens 11 September 2018 Daily Devotional – Great God I

According to Proverbs 21:1, my God has the heart of kings in His hands, and He turns their hearts wherever He pleases. He has control over the commanders-in-chief of all armed forces, then He can also direct the armed forces of different nations as He pleases.

Isaiah 9:6 calls Him the Prince of Peace. The first thing a person experiences after giving his or her life to Christ is peace, because the Prince of Peace now lives within. My God can calm any storm and I mean any storm. He calmed several storms when He was here on earth (Mark 4:39,Matthew 14:24-32), and there is no storm in your life that He cannot calm.

Some years ago, I was invited to speak at a United Nations Summit, and I told the delegates there that it was a good thing that they were all trying to solve the problems of war around the world.

I let them know though that if they really wanted peace, the only way they could get it was if they involved the Prince of Peace. In this world of war and turbulence, you can have peace if you surrender to Him indeed. May the peace of the Lord continually be with you in Jesus’ Name

Verse 1:
Wonderful story of love;
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love;
Wake the immortal strain!
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, O won’t you believe it?

Chorus:
Wonderful story of love,
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful, wonderful story of love.

Verse 2:
Wonderful story of love;
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love;
Still He doth call today;
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation,

Verse 3:
Wonderful story of love;
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love;
For all the pure and blest,
Rest in those mansions above us,
With those who’ve gone on before us,
Singing the rapturous chorus,

Topic: Only God Can Truly Satisfy

Scripture: And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true [they are accurate, incorruptible, and trustworthy].” – Revelation 21:5 (AMP)

Message: Nothing can satisfy your longing for God except communion and fellowship with Him. The apostle John wrote, And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever (1 John 2:17 AMPC).

Joyce Meyer 18 September 2018 Daily Devotional – Only God Can Truly Satisfy

The world makes it easy for you to fill your ears with all kinds of things that drown out the voice of God and push Him far into the background of your life. However, the day comes for every person when only God remains. Everything else in life eventually passes away; when it does, God will still be there. Seek God earnestly today, and He will abide in you.

Joyce Meyer 18 September 2018 Daily Devotional – Only God Can Truly Satisfy

Prayer Starter: Father, I desire a deeper, closer relationship with You. Help me to make You a priority today and every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional 18 September 2018

Topic: Our Life Belongs to God

Scripture: Matthew 22:20-21 “And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.”

Text: Matthew 22:20-22

Message: The image on the denarius, the only small silver coin acceptable for imperial tax payments, was probably that of Tiberius Caesar (reigned A.D. 14-37). The inscription upon the coin read “Tiberius Caesar Augustus, Son of the Divine Augustus” with the reverse side reading “Chief Priest.” This inscription was a claim to divinity and as emperor, the right to be worshiped.

The Jews had tried many times to accuse Jesus on the basis of religious issues and had always failed. Now they approached Him about paying taxes in hopes that His answer might give them the opportunity to deliver Him to Pilate for prosecution.

Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional 18 September 2018 – Our Life Belongs to God

These Pharisees and Herodians reasoned that any answer that Jesus gave would be wrong. If He approved of the Roman taxes, then He would lose popularity with the masses. If He spoke against the Roman taxes, then the Jews would hand Him over to the Roman government and Pilate would dispose of Him. It looked like they had Jesus trapped. Jesus, however, answered with such simple wisdom that these Pharisees and Herodians were caught in their own trap and made to look like fools.

Andrew Wommack Daily Devotional 18 September 2018 – Our Life Belongs to God

Jesus declared, “Render (give back) to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s” (Mk. 12:17). People are made in God’s image, so we must render to God the things belonging to God (our lives) and to Caesar the things belonging to Caesar (his money and other benefits of his rule).
