Yesterday during his world press conference, Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, pointed out that he does not yet have his APC membership card and that the party has now brought a rule stating that only members of the party with valid membership cards would be allowed to vote at the governorship primaries now slated for tomorrow, Tuesday October 2nd.
Ambode insinuated that the party is out to disenfranchise some of its members, including himself.
Reacting to Ambode’s claim, the chairman of APC in the state, Tunde Balogun in an interview with newsmen at the party secretariat this morning October 1st, said he has made several attempts to reach the Governor but, he rejected his phone calls. He used the opportunity to display the Governor’s membership card and asked him to come for it at the party secretariat.
