God has done His own duty through the redemption of man. The redeemed man or woman (a Christian) also owes God the duty to grow into the image of Christ (Hebrews 9:14). From our Fire Scripture for today (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14), the conclusion of the preacher is that the whole duty of a man is to fear God and obey his commandment. Solomon was an anointed king of Israel, a prophet of God. He was anointed by God to rule over Israel. He can be described as that man that saw it all and had it all. He had fame, prosperity, power, riches, wisdom, yet he died an unfulfilled man. He discovered later in his life that the whole essence of living is to fear God and obey his commandment; hence his counsel in our text. To fear God means to reverence Him, to love Him, to have faith in Him and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and to keep His commandments and be obedient to His will. This is the only thing that can make a man whole and perfect. Without the fear of God, man is nothing. Every child of God is chosen and called to follow Christ. We have been given all we need for life and godliness and have access to the riches of His grace. However, if the foundation of your life is not laid on the fear of God and obedience to His word, your life will become futile and your fellowship with God will not stand. All the material possessions, intelligence, popularity or fame you have will be meaningless. The only thing that can give you fulfilment in this life and the life hereafter is to fear God and obey His commands. It would amount to sin if we fail to follow God’s word which is a revealer of God’s mind to us as recorded in Micah 6:8. Doing His will equals to reverencing Him, because you cannot obey and reverence who you have no regards for. There is assurance of eternal life, strong confidence and divine security (Prov. 14:26-27). What could be richer than abundant life! May God humble our hearts to fulfil this one but all-encompassing duty to fear God! However, no man can fear God except by the help of the Holy Spirit. If you are not yet born again, surrender your heart today so that you can receive the presence of the Holy Spirit who alone can give you the grace and power to do so. Motivational Quote: The fear of God is an antidote to a life of futility and vanity. Prophetic Word: Receive the fear of God that makes the difference in a man’s life, in the name of Jesus. HYMN: The Comforter Has Come 1. O Spread the tidings ’round, Where ever man is found, Where ever human hearts And human woes abound; Let ev’ry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound; The Comforter has come! Chorus Holy Ghost from Heav’n, The father’s promise giv’n; O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found The comforter has come 2. The long, long night is past, The morning breaks at last, And hushed the dreadful wail And fury of the blast, As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast! The Comforter has come! 3. Lo, the great King of kings, With healing in His wings, To ev’ry captive soul a full deliv’rance brings; And thro’ the vacant cells the song of triumph rings; The Comforter has come! PRAYER POINTS: MORNING 1. Father, teach me to walk in Your fear, in the name of Jesus. 2. Let the fear of God be the foundation of my decision in life, in the name of Jesus. 3. Father, help to yield myself as a servant to obey Your word, in the name of Jesus. EVENING: 4. My Father, let the Spirit of fear of God be activated in my life afresh, in the name of Jesus. 5. Lord, let every part of my being come in subj e c tion to the obedience of God, in the name of Jesus. 6. My Father, reveal to me any area of my life where my obedience is yet to be complete, in the name of Jesus. 7. Father, grant me the courage to obey You, no matter how difficult, in the name of Jesus. Topic: The Power of Vision

Fire Scripture
Habakkuk 2:2-3

MFM Daily Devotional 1 June 2021 Outline

Vision is the ability to see into the future, your preferred future. A man without vision will lack direction. A man without vision is either dying or dead. When you have a good vision you will be able to structure your life properly.

Your vision will influence every area of your life. In the real sense, it determines how far you can go in life. Do you have a vision for your life? Please write it down and pray to God for its actualisation. If you don’t have one, please pray earnestly and fervently for God’s intervention because lack of vision is one of the strategies of the enemy to rob you of your glorious destiny.

Beloved, what you see is what you get in life. What you do not see, you can hardly get. God works with the vision you have of yourself, especially those that originate from Him to you. No one ever became anything worthwhile or recorded great achievements in life without first having a vision and running with it. Your vision is therefore the key to your preferred future. Do you have a vision?

When God decided to bless Abram with landed property, after lot had separated from him, He told Abram to lift up his eyes and look from the place he was northward, southward, eastward and westward and assured Abram that He would give all the land to him and his seed forever (Gen. 13:14-15).

This vision was first imprinted in the spirit of Abram and he believed and ran with it before it became a reality. Also, in Gen. 15:1-6, when God wanted to give Abram a child, the Bible says, “And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”

To avoid failing in life and eternity, you need a clear vision for your life. Your Godgiven vision will give you direction or roadmap and help you to achieve your divine purpose. It will give you passion and motivation to pursue your life goals. It will also help you to prioritise your life and time as well as discipline your actions by developing the right values.

Finally your God-given vision will protect you from failing in life. The fulfillment of your vision is the key to your happiness.

Memory verse

Prophetic Word

1. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Chorus
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Saviour all the day long.

2. Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3. Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Saviour am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
