Clinton 'confident' new FBI probe into email scandal will not find cause to file charges

Hillary Clinton says she is confident a new FBI probe into her emails will not change the outcome of the original investigation in July.

With just days to go until the US election , the Democratic presidential nominee said people have already made up their minds about the controversy.

She called on the FBI to release all new information in its probe of her private email server and said she did not think the agency would change its conclusion in July not to prosecute her.

“The American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately. The director himself has said he doesn’t know whether the emails referenced in his letter are significant or not. I’m confident whatever they are will not change the conclusion reached in July,” she told reporters.

In a letter to members of Congress, FBI director James Comey revealed new messages have been found that are “pertinent to the investigation”.

In July, FBI officials had recommended that no charges should be brought over the controversy which centres around Ms Clinton’s use of a private email server to exchange messages with staff and other officials.
