The Nigeria President, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday condemned the killing of eight people in a village in Zamfara State as barbaric and unacceptable.

The incident occurred on Monday after a student of the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata-Mafara made a blasphemous statement against Islam and Prophet Muhammad. He was consequently attacked by a mob and beaten to a pulp.

A man took pity on him and rushed him to a hospital in his car. The man’s act infuriated the mob; they attacked his house, set it ablaze and killed eight persons.

Reacting to the news on his Twitter handle, @MBuhari, the president vowed that the perpetrators of the act would be brought to book.
