Catholic Daily Mass Reading Saturday 30th January 2021 Message

Daily Reading for Saturday January 30, 2021

Reading 1, Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-19
Responsorial Psalm, Luke 1:69-70, 71-72, 73-75
Gospel, Mark 4:35-41

Reading 1, Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-19
1 Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of realities that are unseen.

2 It is for their faith that our ancestors are acknowledged.

8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed the call to set out for a country that was the inheritance given to him and his descendants, and that he set out without knowing where he was going.

9 By faith he sojourned in the Promised Land as though it were not his, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise.

10 He looked forward to the well-founded city, designed and built by God.

11 It was equally by faith that Sarah, in spite of being past the age, was made able to conceive, because she believed that he who had made the promise was faithful to it.

12 Because of this, there came from one man, and one who already had the mark of death on him, descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven and the grains of sand on the seashore which cannot be counted.

13 All these died in faith, before receiving any of the things that had been promised, but they saw them in the far distance and welcomed them, recognising that they were only strangers and nomads on earth.

14 People who use such terms about themselves make it quite plain that they are in search of a homeland.

15 If they had meant the country they came from, they would have had the opportunity to return to it;

16 but in fact they were longing for a better homeland, their heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, since he has founded the city for them.

17 It was by faith that Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac. He offered to sacrifice his only son even though he had yet to receive what had been promised,

18 and he had been told: Isaac is the one through whom your name will be carried on.

19 He was confident that God had the power even to raise the dead; and so, figuratively speaking, he was given back Isaac from the dead.

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Saturday 30th January 2021

Responsorial Psalm, Luke 1:69-70, 71-72, 73-75
69 and he has established for us a saving power in the House of his servant David,

70 just as he proclaimed, by the mouth of his holy prophets from ancient times,

71 that he would save us from our enemies and from the hands of all those who hate us,

72 and show faithful love to our ancestors, and so keep in mind his holy covenant.

73 This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,

74 that he would grant us, free from fear, to be delivered from the hands of our enemies,

75 to serve him in holiness and uprightness in his presence, all our days.

Gospel, Mark 4:35-41
35 With the coming of evening that same day, he said to them, ‘Let us cross over to the other side.’

36 And leaving the crowd behind they took him, just as he was, in the boat; and there were other boats with him.

37 Then it began to blow a great gale and the waves were breaking into the boat so that it was almost swamped.

38 But he was in the stern, his head on the cushion, asleep.

39 They woke him and said to him, ‘Master, do you not care? We are lost!’ And he woke up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Quiet now! Be calm!’ And the wind dropped, and there followed a great calm.

40 Then he said to them, ‘Why are you so frightened? Have you still no faith?’

41 They were overcome with awe and said to one another, ‘Who can this be? Even the wind and the sea obey him.’

Seeds of Destiny 25th February 2021 Devotional Message By Dr. Paul Enenche

TOPIC: The Centre for Life, Healing, Health and Safety

SCRIPTURE: But upon mount Zion, there shall be deliverance… Obadiah 1:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot die like a chicken. Any devil or force of darkness that is pursuing you is only pursuing you to their own death.

Seeds of Destiny Devotional for 25th February 2021 Message

It has been confirmed that God has made His church a place of safety where He secures the lives of His people. The church is the ground for healing and deliverance. That is why we see diverse healings and deliverances all the time in church.

Beloved, if disease or death pursues you to church, that disease or death returns to the sender. People come to church to live and not to die. They come to church to be healed and not to be afflicted with sickness. And that is your portion in Jesus’ Name.

In one of our Tuesday Healing and Deliverance services, a lady testified of how she miraculously survived being hit and dragged on the road by a Toyota Hilux van. She said she could hear people shout: “The girl is dead!”

She said that in those moments of danger while in the shadows of death, the Lord appeared to her using my face as her pastor and said, “You cannot die like a chicken”.

You know, stray chickens easily get hit by vehicles on the road and die cheaply, but God appeared to her to tell her that she won’t die cheaply like a chicken.

While she was still being dragged on the road by the moving vehicle, she kept hearing that voice, “You cannot die like a chicken!” When the Hilux van finally stopped, her bones were already badly damaged. She could not lift her leg or turn it. People literally packed her to the hospital.

That same day while on the hospital bed, she had another encounter in the night. God visited her in the dream of the night using the face of my wife, Dr Becky Enenche and told her to lift up her leg.

When she woke up the following day on the hospital bed, a doctor told her to lift her legs. She did, and then realised that God had healed her.

Beloved, you cannot die like a chicken. Any devil or force of darkness that is pursuing you is only pursuing you to their own death.

REMEMBER THIS: You cannot die like a chicken. Any devil or force of darkness that is pursuing you is only pursuing you to their own death.

ASSIGNMENTS:

QUOTE: It is good to note that survival is a function of Wisdom. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 1 Samuel 12-15.

AMAZING FACT: Baby eagles reach full growth at 12 weeks old. This shows that the eagle is one of the fastest growing animals.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: You shall fulfil your days; no agenda of the enemy is permitted to take you before your time in Jesus’ Name.

Our Daily Bread Devotional 25th February 2021 Thursday Message By Our Daily Bread Ministries, Written By:  Mart DeHaan

Topic: To Be Human

Today’s Scripture: Matthew 23:37–24:2

Key Verse: Jerusalem, Jerusalem . . . how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. – Matthew 23:37

INSIGHT:  Scholars believe Jesus made the statements about the temple in Matthew 24 two days prior to His crucifixion. The temple was a source of great national pride for the Jewish people. Constructed by Herod the Great, it was twice as large as Solomon’s temple and served as the centerpiece of national faith. Not surprisingly, Jesus’ prophecy about the temple’s destruction was literally fulfilled. Josephus the historian, who was with the Romans at the temple’s destruction, has left us an eyewitness account of that event. The destruction was thorough, with only a portion of the Western Wall left standing.

At Jesus’ crucifixion, the miraculous tearing in two of the temple curtain signified the end of the system of animal sacrifice for sin (Matthew 27:51Mark 15:38Luke 23:45), yet these ineffective sacrifices did continue for a time. The destruction of the temple in ad 70 put an end to the practice.

Our Daily Bread Devotional 25th February 2021 Thursday Message:

“Mr. Singerman, why are you crying?” asked twelve-year-old Albert as he watched the master craftsman construct a wooden box.

“I cry,” he said, “because my father cried, and because my grandfather cried.” The woodworker’s answer to his young apprentice provides a tender moment in an episode of Little House on the Prairie. “Tears,” explained Mr. Singerman, “come with the making of a coffin.”

“Some men don’t cry because they fear it is a sign of weakness,” he said. “I was taught that a man is a man because he can cry.”

Emotion must have welled up in the eyes of Jesus as He compared His concern for Jerusalem to the care of a mother hen for her chicks (Matthew 23:37). His disciples were often confused by what they saw in His eyes or heard in His stories. His idea of what it meant to be strong was different. It happened again as they walked with Him from the temple. Calling His attention to the massive stone walls and magnificent decor of their place of worship (24:1), the disciples noted the strength of human accomplishment. Jesus saw a temple that would be leveled in ad 70.

Christ shows us that healthy people know when to cry and why. He cried because His Father cares and His Spirit groans for children who couldn’t yet see what breaks His heart.

Reflect & Pray

In what situations in your life might you be avoiding grief? How can your faith in a Savior who cries (John 11:35) help you express your grief in a healthy way?

Father, please replace any cold illusions of strength I cling to with a growing understanding of the cares and concerns that break Your heart for children like me.

MFM Devotional 25th February 2021 (Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Guide By Dr D.K Olukoya

TOPIC: God’s Picture of the Christian Home (3)

Fire Scripture
Acts 2:16-21

Memory verse
Psalm 119: 105 – “Thy word is a lamp into my feet, and a light unto my path.”

MFM Devotional 25th February 2021 Outline

Having seen how we should NOT find a help meet, we will now examine how to find and know God’s will in marriage. The place of God’s word in our discovering the will of God in marriage cannot be over-emphasised. Israel was guided by a pillar of fire by day and a pillar cloud by night. Today, believers are guided by His WORD and the SPIRIT.

This is one of the reasons why you need to sit under the anointed teaching of the word (Isa. 30:20-21). First, a word of scripture strongly impressed on the heart by the Holy Spirit when in prayer can be His method of guiding some people (John 14: 26). Second, the inner voice of the Holy Spirit, prompting, directing, influencing or checking is another method. (John 10:4,6, 27; Acts 10:17-21) When the Holy Spirit leads, He does not make mistakes because He is God and the Spirit of Truth.

Another way a believer can be guided to know God’s will in marriage is by receiving direct revelation. (Acts 11:12). God still guides through dreams, visions, and revelations today. The promise of Joel 2:28-29 is for the days in which we live (Acts 2: 16-21). God used this method of guidance after Pentecost. His dealings with the church from Pentecost until now has not changed (Acts 5: 19-21).

We must diligently compare whatever is revealed with the scripture. If any revelation (to us or to anyone we know) contradicts the scripture in anyway, we must reject the revelation, vision or dream as false (Isaiah 8: 19-20). Special, God-given love that cannot be quenched by temporal, contrary circumstances (Song of Solomon 8:6-7) is also a reliable way to know God’s will in marriage.

In this case, the love is not a mere natural attraction, neither is it affection that is self-produced through friendly visitation, familiarity and exchange of gifts. Beloved, next to your salvation decision, the decision on who you get married to is very crucial. You cannot leave it to guesswork. Rather, you must engage in spiritual exercise like reading the Bible and claiming God’s promises on divine guidance (as stated above) and engaging in purposeful fasting and praying until the heavens open and God gives you an answer of peace.

How your marriage turns out (blissful or painful) will affect other areas of your life: career, ministry, health, progress, and so on, pleasantly or unpleasantly. That is why you need to be God-led and to get your choice right. God still guides today. He is willing to guide you.
