Daily Fountain Devotional 29th March 2020 – Redemption Through the Blood of Christ

Anglican Communion Daily Fountain Devotional 29th March 2020

TOPIC: Redemption Through the Blood of Christ

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 9:11-14

MESSAGE: Christ came as a High Priest appointed by the direct call of God and ministered within the true sanctuary, the eternal house of God not made with hands. He entered the most holy place with his own blood once and for all, thereby securing an eternal redemption for us. Christ’s sacrifice of His sinless self is the one perfect sacrifice that does not need to be repeated, (Heb. 7:27-28) which brought eternal redemption from sin for us (Tit. 2:14).

If the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and ashes of heifer, sanctified the flesh in the Old Testament, how much more shall the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works (deeds that cannot save due to human sinfulness) to serve the living God (vs. 13-14).

Daily Fountain Devotional 29th March 2020 – Jesus was both the High Priest and the sacrifice itself (Heb. 9:25-26). The Old Testament sacrifice had to be without blemish, Jesus is holy, innocent and unstained (Heb. 7:26). Christ’s sacrifice cleanses the innermost being which the Mosaic sacrifice could not do. The New Covenant high priesthood of Jesus provides a single superior sacrifice in a superior heavenly tabernacle. It brings complete forgiveness of sins, eternal salvation and direct access to God.

Christ saves His people from sin and death and saves them for fellowship with God. Song:Oh the blood of Jesus (3ce) It washes white as snow There’s cleansing in the blood of Jesus There’s healing in the blood of Jesus There’s power in the blood of Jesus It washes white as snow

PRAYER POINT:
Dear Lord, thank you for your sacrifice of Yourself on the cross, cleanse me from sin and give me the power to make me white as snow
