MESSAGE: It was said of D.L. Moody that on his dying bed, he joyfully proclaimed, “Earth recedes. Heaven opens before me. If this is death, it is sweet! There is no valley here. God is calling me and I must go.” Matthew Henry, the writer of one of the most exhaustive Bible commentaries, was said to have called on someone on his dying bed and said to him, “you have been used to taking notice of the sayings of dying men. This is mine: that a life spent in the service of God and communion with Him, is the most comfortable and pleasant life that anyone can live in this world.”

Augustus M. Toplady, author of the hymn “Rock of Ages Cleft for Me”, in his last hour on earth exclaimed, “All is light, light… Lord Jesus, come, come quickly”. Jehoiada the priest, died an old man and was buried in the city of David among the kings because he had done good in Israel, both toward God and toward his house.

All these people and many more passed on peacefully with full assurance in their hearts that they were bound for an eternity of glory and delights. Time, our most valued life’s asset, is the least under our control. You cannot control the length of your life, but you can control its width and depth. You cannot control the weather, but you can control the atmosphere of your mind. Why worry about things you cannot control when you can keep yourself busy controlling the things that depend on you? Do not occupy your life with things that will sooner or later be changed. Time and life would soon end. So, focus on the things that must be changed now or never. It is wise to give priority to the transformation of your life and destiny to avoid being hurt all through eternity.

Thought for the day: Salvation begets the passport for eternity.
