Liverpool star Diogo Jota was pictured alongside his wife, Rute Cardoso, and their three children on their wedding day, just days before his untimely death shocked the world.
The 28-year-old Portuguese footballer tied the knot with his long-time partner on June 22, 2025, in a joyful celebration filled with love and family. Their children, who played special roles at the wedding, were seen smiling as the couple celebrated what they called the happiest day of their lives.
In a touching social media post shared three days before the tragedy, Rute Cardoso expressed her joy, writing: “My dream came true.”
Sadly, that dream was cut short when Jota and his brother Andre, also a professional footballer, were involved in a fatal car accident in Spain. Their vehicle veered off the road and was engulfed in flames. Despite emergency efforts, neither brother survived.
