FACEBOOK founder Mark Zuckerberg has blasted entrepreneur Elon Musk’s SpaceX company for destroying his £150million satellite.
The rocket that was meant to send the device into orbit dramatically exploded on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral yesterday.
Billionaire CEO Zuckerberg wrote about his disappointment in a Facebook post from Africa where he was planning to celebrate the successful mission.
The Amos 6 satellite would have provided internet access to potentially millions of people in remote areas of the continent.
But the as yet unexplained explosion scuppered the multi-million dollar plan that had taken years to develop.
“As I’m here in Africa, I’m deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX’s launch failure destroyed our satellite”, Zuckerberg wrote.
It “would have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent,” he continued.
