Video: Fight breaks out on Ryanair flight from Newcastle to Alicante

As the holiday season comes to and end, the good people of Britain have given us one more plane fight.

A brawl broke out on a Ryanair flight from Newcastle to Alicante recently which led to one woman being banned from the airline for life.

The other passengers seemed to be reacting to the scene with a mix of horror and delight, with one male passenger saying ‘ow man’ when a stewardess stops a woman from hitting someone.

Lucy Morris, 30, recorded the fracas, which saw arms flying and several passengers getting involved while airline staff try to defuse the situation.

She said: ‘[The woman] was shouting, screaming and making a show of herself.

‘She had been rude to a few people on the flight and I think she was mortal drunk.’

Lucy thought the police would come and arrest the woman, but the situation eventually calmed down and the plane was able to take off shortly before 11am on Thursday.

However she did say some officers were waiting for the woman when she disembarked at Alicante.

A Ryanair spokesperson said: ‘We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority. This passenger has been banned from flying with Ryanair and this is now a matter for local police.

This is exactly why we are calling for significant changes to prohibit the sale of alcohol at airports, such as a two-drink limit per passenger and no alcohol sales before 10am.’
