France sends message to Iran over war threats

The leaders of Britain, France and Germany have sent a message to the Islamic Republic of Iran calling on the country to return to full compliance with a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers and refrain from further violence.

Just last night, Iran for the second time in a week, launched over a dozen missiles at US bases.

The attack was still in retaliation of the death of Qassem Soleimani, the army general killed by the US government.

A statement from the office of President Emmanuel Macron of France said, “We urge Iran to reverse all measures inconsistent with the agreement and return to full compliance,” according to Al Jazeera.

They also warned Iran against further violent actions, adding that peace and stability must return in the Middle East.

“We call on Iran to refrain from further violent action or proliferation, and we remain ready to engage with Iran on this agenda in order to preserve the stability of the region,” they added.

Following the killing of Soleimani by Trump’s order, the Iranian government had vowed to shatter the 2015 agreement and continue in its nuclear weapons programme.
