TOPIC: In the “Deep End”
Scripture: Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]āto the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). – Jude 24-25 (AMPC)
Joyce Meyer Devotional 24th February 2021 Message:
Just like a toddler in the middle of a swimming pool can feel in over their head, at various points in our lives, all of us feel like weāre getting out of our depth. But the reality is that, without God, weāre always in over our heads.
We all face some problems that just seem too big: a job is lost, someone dies, thereās strife in our family or close relationships, or a bad report comes from the doctor. When these things happen, our temptation is to panic because we feel like weāve lost control. But think about itājust like the child in the pool, the truth is weāve never been in control when it comes to lifeās most overwhelming moments. Weāve always been held up by the grace of God, our Father, and that wonāt change. God is never out of His depth or caught off guard, so we can know that weāre just as safe in lifeās ādeep endā moments as we were in the kiddie pool.
No matter what weāre going through, Godās promised us to fight for us, so we can trust Him to hold us up, even when the waves get high (see Deuteronomy 20:4; Psalm 34:19).
Prayer Starter: Father, thank You that Iām safe in Your arms, even when I feel like Iām in over my head. Please help me remember that Youāre always holding me by Your grace, so I can let go of fear. In Jesusā name, amen.
