Kanye West Sparks New Controversy Over North West’s Involvement in Music
Another day, another Kanye West social media storm. This time, the rapper has set his sights on his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, igniting a heated dispute over their daughter North West’s name and involvement in his latest track.
Kim is reportedly devastated after West released a song featuring 11-year-old North alongside embattled music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently facing multiple legal battles, including allegations of sex trafficking.
The track, titled LONELY ROADS STILL GO TO SUNSHINE, debuted on Saturday on Kanye’s X account, sparking immediate backlash from Kardashian. The song allegedly opens with Diddy’s voice thanking Kanye for his support while awaiting trial, and includes verses from Diddy’s son, Christian “King” Combs. North makes a brief appearance, rapping, “When you see me shining, then you see the light.”
According to sources, Kim made multiple attempts to prevent the track’s release, including sending cease-and-desist letters and requesting an emergency court hearing. While Kanye initially agreed to delay the song, he ultimately shared it publicly, escalating tensions between the former couple.
Further fueling the controversy, Kanye posted—and later deleted—screenshots of a text exchange with Kardashian, in which he allegedly threatened legal action over North’s name and image, warning: “Amend it or I’m going to war.”
In response, Kim reportedly asserted that she holds the copyright to North’s name and has taken legal steps to prevent her association with the track. Insiders claim North recently joined Kanye in the studio, where he promised her that the song would be part of his upcoming Sunday Service revival.
Kim, who has been studying law, is determined to “do whatever it takes” to protect her children. She has reportedly asked a judge to restrict the kids’ exposure to what she describes as Kanye’s “harmful speech.”
This latest dispute further deepens the divide between the former power couple, who share four children.
Meanwhile, Diddy, formerly known as Puff Daddy and P Diddy, remains in custody after his 2024 arrest on serious charges, including racketeering, sex crimes, and prostitution. He has been denied bail multiple times and maintains his innocence, with his trial set to begin in May 2025.
