TOPIC: Moving From Curses To Blessings (I)

Fire Scripture
Deuteronomy 28:1-13

MEMORY VERSE
Proverb 26:2 – As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

MFM Daily Devotional 22nd January 2021 outline

A curse is an anointing to fail. It is an invisible barrier to receiving the blessings of the Christian life. When you curse a person, you utter an evil wish against that person, causing mischief or injury to come upon that person. To curse a person is to bind that person with a spell as witches do. It is to engage in a violent expression of evil against a person.

Curses are words put together to torment with great calamity. A curse is an invisible barrier that keeps people or things away from what God has for them. However, the greatest problem about curses is that most people who have been cursed do not know. How do you know if there is a curse at work in a life? Deuteronomy 28 gives us an insight: First there will be mental and emotional breakdown (Deuteronomy 28:20, 28, 34, 65, 66).

Such a victim may be haunted by an inner voice that tells him to say, think or do weird things. The second sign of a life under a curse is repeated or chronic illness, including wasting diseases that are characterised by lack of clear medical diagnosis, being prolonged and running in a family (Deuteronomy 28:22, 27, 35, 59 and 61). The third sign includes barrenness, repeated miscarriages and related female problems.

This stems from Deuteronomy 28:18, “The fruit of thy womb shall be cursed.” This curse therefore affects reproductive organs and functions. It also causes barrenness, miscarriage, irregular and problematic menstruation. Another sign that a life is under a curse is marriage breakdown and alienation in families (Deuteronomy 28:30a, 41). This curse is the reason many sons and daughters live sinful, wayward and ungodly lives. It is also the reason many siblings live in strife, rivalry and disunity when they should be bound together in love.

Abject financial and material lack is another sign that a life is cursed (Deuteronomy 28:17). When wretchedness is the order of the day and a person’s genuine effort always yields no result, there is a curse at work. Being prone to frequent and unnatural accident, sometimes as a result of other people’s fault is a sign that a person is under a curse. Finally, unnatural death in a family or tribe is an indicator of an umbrella curse on that family tree.

Beloved, is any or some of these signs evident in your life? There is a way out. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour now. Repent of all your sins and break the curse(s) in the name of Jesus. Once any curse at work in your life is broken and the demon behind it is cast out, you will have a divine turnaround and fulfilment.

Motivational Quote
Count your blessings not your troubles.

Prophetic Word
The power that healed Jericho of curses sets you free from all curses today, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN
“There shall be showers of blessing”

1. “There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Saviour above.

Chorus:
Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.

2. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.

3. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us, O Lord;
Grant to us now a refreshing,
Come and now honour Your Word.

4. “There shall be showers of blessing”
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!

Joel Osteen 7th March 2021 Sunday Devotional Message

Topic: Money

Today’s Scripture
1 Timothy 6:10, NLT – For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

Joel Osteen 7th March 2021 Sunday Devotional Message

Sometimes religion can make people feel that it’s wrong to be blessed with resources. But the Scripture says that Job, a man of the highest integrity and who honored God, was blessed with great wealth and resources. David, who was called a man after God’s own heart, left an inheritance to build the temple in Jerusalem that some scholars say would be over a billion dollars today. Abraham, the father of our faith, was very wealthy in livestock and in silver and gold. God has no problem with you having money as long as the money doesn’t have you. Money is simply a tool. Money can help send your children to college, bless a person in need, and help you accomplish your dream. It’s the love of money that’s a problem. Money shouldn’t be your goal; fulfilling your destiny should be your goal. If you make wealth your goal and live to impress people and show off what you have, your life is going to be miserable.

Prayer for Today(Joel Osteen 7th March 2021 Sunday Devotional)
Father, thank You that You are called Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord our Provider. Thank You that You delight in prospering me, and I can use my wealth as a tool for good. Help me to be wise with my finances and keep my focus on fulfilling my destiny. In Jesus Name, Amen.

MFM Devotional 7th March 2021 Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional By Dr. D.K Olukoya

TOPIC: That God May Be Glorified

Fire Scripture
John 9:1-3

MEMORY VERSE
Romans 8:28- “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

MFM Devotional 7th March 2021 Outline

Why do bad things happen to good people? If you have often pondered about that problem, you are not alone. There is only one answer: God allows bad things to happen to His people only if He sees a way of turning the bad into a greater good. Romans 8: 32, our Memory Verse today, reveals that God specialises in bringing the best out of unpleasant things that He permits to happen to His children.

Someone asked, “Why did God Himself commend Job’s righteousness and still permitted satan to afflict him so terribly that he lost everything except his soul?’ The answer is that God permitted it because He knew He would bring greater and more glorious results out of it. He gave Job, after his trial, twice what he had before and his faith and patience are useful lessons for us today.

In John 9 the diciples of Jesus asked who had sinned for the blind man to have been born blind: his parents or the man himself? Jesus told them that no one sinned and that God only permitted the man’s predicament so that He would glorify Himself in his life. God was indeed glorified because Jesus restored his sight to the amazement of all people. Joseph’s envious siblings sold him into slavery at 17, thinking that they had killed his dream and God-ordained greatness. They were wrong!

Again, the Bible reveals that God allowed him to go through hard knocks and pain for 13 years. In the end, his dream was fulfilled. His brothers paid obeisance to him as the Prime Minister of Egypt. Though they were afraid, he assured them that God meant everything that happened to him for good. Beloved, whatever God permits to happen to you will turn out as a beautiful testimony.

Trust and obey God; He will turn your experience around and use it to glorify His name.

Motivational Quote
There is no limit to what God will do for the believer who will let Him have all the glory.

Prophetic Word
God will glorify Himself in your life now and Always.

HYMN
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

1. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made Him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.

Chorus
Rejoice! rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
Rejoice! rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!

2. Be joyful, for He is the Lord,
On earth and in heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules by His word;
The ‘Mighty’ and ‘Strong’ to redeem.

3. What tho’ in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail!
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.

4. Tho’ darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.

5. Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
With harp, and with organ, and voice,
The loud hallelujahs prolong!

PRAYER POINTS

Daily Reading for Sunday March 7, 2021
Reading 1, Exodus 20:1-17
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 19:8, 9, 10, 11
Gospel, John 2:13-25
Reading 2, First Corinthians 1:22-25

Reading 1, Exodus 20:1-17
1 Then God spoke all these words. He said,

2 ‘I am Yahweh your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you lived as slaves.

3 ‘You shall have no other gods to rival me.

4 ‘You shall not make yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth.

5 ‘You shall not bow down to them or serve them. For I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God and I punish a parent’s fault in the children, the grandchildren, and the great-grandchildren among those who hate me;

6 but I act with faithful love towards thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 ‘You shall not misuse the name of Yahweh your God, for Yahweh will not leave unpunished anyone who misuses his name.

8 ‘Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

9 For six days you shall labour and do all your work,

10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. You shall do no work that day, neither you nor your son nor your daughter nor your servants, men or women, nor your animals nor the alien living with you.

11 For in six days Yahweh made the heavens, earth and sea and all that these contain, but on the seventh day he rested; that is why Yahweh has blessed the Sabbath day and made it sacred.

12 ‘Honour your father and your mother so that you may live long in the land that Yahweh your God is giving you.

13 ‘You shall not kill.

14 ‘You shall not commit adultery.

15 ‘You shall not steal.

16 ‘You shall not give false evidence against your neighbour.

17 ‘You shall not set your heart on your neighbour’s house. You shall not set your heart on your neighbour’s spouse, or servant, man or woman, or ox, or donkey, or any of your neighbour’s possessions.’

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Sunday 7th March 2021 Online

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 19:8, 9, 10, 11
8 The precepts of Yahweh are honest, joy for the heart; the commandment of Yahweh is pure, light for the eyes.

9 The fear of Yahweh is pure, lasting for ever; the judgements of Yahweh are true, upright, every one,

10 more desirable than gold, even than the finest gold; his words are sweeter than honey, that drips from the comb.

11 Thus your servant is formed by them; observing them brings great reward.

Gospel, John 2:13-25
13 When the time of the Jewish Passover was near Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14 and in the Temple he found people selling cattle and sheep and doves, and the money changers sitting there.

15 Making a whip out of cord, he drove them all out of the Temple, sheep and cattle as well, scattered the money changers’ coins, knocked their tables over

16 and said to the dove sellers, ‘Take all this out of here and stop using my Father’s house as a market.’

17 Then his disciples remembered the words of scripture: I am eaten up with zeal for your house.

18 The Jews intervened and said, ‘What sign can you show us that you should act like this?’

19 Jesus answered, ‘Destroy this Temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’

20 The Jews replied, ‘It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple: are you going to raise it up again in three days?’

21 But he was speaking of the Temple that was his body,

22 and when Jesus rose from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the scripture and what he had said.

23 During his stay in Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover many believed in his name when they saw the signs that he did,

24 but Jesus knew all people and did not trust himself to them;

25 he never needed evidence about anyone; he could tell what someone had within.

Reading 2, First Corinthians 1:22-25
22 While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom,

23 we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the gentiles foolishness,

24 but to those who have been called, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is both the power of God and the wisdom of God.

25 God’s folly is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength.
