God has done His own duty through the redemption of man. The redeemed man or woman (a Christian) also owes God the duty to grow into the image of Christ (Hebrews 9:14). From our Fire Scripture for today (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14), the conclusion of the preacher is that the whole duty of a man is to fear God and obey his commandment. Solomon was an anointed king of Israel, a prophet of God. He was anointed by God to rule over Israel. He can be described as that man that saw it all and had it all. He had fame, prosperity, power, riches, wisdom, yet he died an unfulfilled man. He discovered later in his life that the whole essence of living is to fear God and obey his commandment; hence his counsel in our text. To fear God means to reverence Him, to love Him, to have faith in Him and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and to keep His commandments and be obedient to His will. This is the only thing that can make a man whole and perfect. Without the fear of God, man is nothing. Every child of God is chosen and called to follow Christ. We have been given all we need for life and godliness and have access to the riches of His grace. However, if the foundation of your life is not laid on the fear of God and obedience to His word, your life will become futile and your fellowship with God will not stand. All the material possessions, intelligence, popularity or fame you have will be meaningless. The only thing that can give you fulfilment in this life and the life hereafter is to fear God and obey His commands. It would amount to sin if we fail to follow God’s word which is a revealer of God’s mind to us as recorded in Micah 6:8. Doing His will equals to reverencing Him, because you cannot obey and reverence who you have no regards for. There is assurance of eternal life, strong confidence and divine security (Prov. 14:26-27). What could be richer than abundant life! May God humble our hearts to fulfil this one but all-encompassing duty to fear God! However, no man can fear God except by the help of the Holy Spirit. If you are not yet born again, surrender your heart today so that you can receive the presence of the Holy Spirit who alone can give you the grace and power to do so. Motivational Quote: The fear of God is an antidote to a life of futility and vanity. Prophetic Word: Receive the fear of God that makes the difference in a man’s life, in the name of Jesus. HYMN: The Comforter Has Come 1. O Spread the tidings ’round, Where ever man is found, Where ever human hearts And human woes abound; Let ev’ry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound; The Comforter has come! Chorus Holy Ghost from Heav’n, The father’s promise giv’n; O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found The comforter has come 2. The long, long night is past, The morning breaks at last, And hushed the dreadful wail And fury of the blast, As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast! The Comforter has come! 3. Lo, the great King of kings, With healing in His wings, To ev’ry captive soul a full deliv’rance brings; And thro’ the vacant cells the song of triumph rings; The Comforter has come! PRAYER POINTS: MORNING 1. Father, teach me to walk in Your fear, in the name of Jesus. 2. Let the fear of God be the foundation of my decision in life, in the name of Jesus. 3. Father, help to yield myself as a servant to obey Your word, in the name of Jesus. EVENING: 4. My Father, let the Spirit of fear of God be activated in my life afresh, in the name of Jesus. 5. Lord, let every part of my being come in subj e c tion to the obedience of God, in the name of Jesus. 6. My Father, reveal to me any area of my life where my obedience is yet to be complete, in the name of Jesus. 7. Father, grant me the courage to obey You, no matter how difficult, in the name of Jesus. MFM Daily Devotional 24 May 2021 Outline

Beloved, we are in the world of technology today. No doubt technology has advantages and disadvantages both in the society and homes, not excluding Christian homes. We have all manners of technological devices that surround us,ranging from laptops,tablets, phones etc.

Each new technological device brings with it the good and bad influence, depending on how well you put them to use. We should endeavourto put God first in all things. After all, God is the giver of knowledge. Why then should we place these technological devices aboveour Creator and the God of the universe.

All devices, social media and so on are to help make life easy and make communication and transactions faster. However, they do replace some crucial natural interactions between persons at different levels in the society. The Christian home, marriage and family fabric have been adversely affected.

Communication, which is a central factor in marriages is fast becoming a force. Couples relate more with sms, Whatspp messages and other means than creating quality time to relate physically with one another. It has become so serious among couples as well as parents and children.

Many Christian couples are physically together but emotionally separated. They watch different programmes. Each has his or her own area of interest. As a result, there is little or no room for harmony. Everyone is on his or her tablet or laptop or TV set.

Children are busy pressing phones, surfing the Internet; in the process many fall into different satanic traps unknown to them. Many Christian children have fallen into untold errors: pornography, joining bad gangs, robbery, terrorism, cultism and occult practice and violence through the Internet and social media. Refuse the TV from becoming a devil’s box in your home!

These and more are the consequences of the misuse of technological devices in our homes, instead of using them to educate ourselves and children and propagating the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Husband and wife, how strong is the bond of love between you, in spite of technology? Is it not better to develop that unity and oneness, and develop mutual interest in each other’s area of interest? By doing this, the devil will not succeed in separating you under the disguise of technology.

When you make use of all these devices and appliances for the betterment of your family and your home, your marriage would not fall apart, in Jesus’ name.

Memory verse
Ps. 101:3 – “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes, I hate the work of them that turn aside, it shall not cleave to me”.

No, not despairingly

1. No, not despairingly
Come I to Thee;
No, not distrustingly
Bend I the knee:
Sin hath gone over me,
Yet is this still my plea:
Yet is this still my plea:
Jesus hath died.

2. Ah! Mine iniquity
Crimson has been
Infinite, infinite,
Sin upon sin;
Sin of not loving Thee,
Sin of not trusting Thee,
Sin of not trusting Thee,
Infinite sin.

3. Lord, I confess to
Thee Sadly my sin;
All I am tell I Thee,
All I have been:
Purge Thou my sin away,
Wash Thou my soul this day;
Wash Thou my soul this day;
Lord, make me clean.
