Healing Your Emotions (II)

Fire Scripture
Col. 3: 5-16

MFM Daily Devotional 26th January 2021 Outline

Negative emotions are not from God. They are rooted in the works of the flesh. They constitute sin unto God. Can we then continue in sin and ask for more grace? (Rom. 6:1) The Bible answers, God forbid! Unfortunately, many people, Christians and non-Christians, are involved in the manifestation of unhealthy emotions in their relationships and daily activities, simply because they lack self-control and discipline.

The resultant effect is that this physical and spiritual carelessness poses imminent danger to their physical and spiritual health. It is injurious to relationships and personal well-being. Therefore, it would be a tragedy to continue living in deception of, “this is who I am, just take me for who I am or let me be!” This is nothing but denial of your deficiencies or refusal to seek help. Remember, “slaves who love their chains will remain in bondage”!

As long as you keep pampering your weaknesses and bottle feed this emotional monster, you are in for a serious problem – an accident waiting to happen! The needful thing is that you sit down and take a spiritual and emotional stock of your life. This may take you right to the very foundation of your life: your ancestry and predominant genetic factors that could be responsible for these negative attitudes and behaviours. Yes, your character, an embodiment of your emotions, could be acquired traits from negative environmental and social influences.

Ask yourself some crucial questions such as these: Do you find people in your lineage behaving the same way you do? Why are you often moody and unresponsive? Are you a slave to anger? Read Eccl. 7:9. An angry man lacks wisdom and self-control. Are you proud and arrogant? God resists the proud but embraces the humble (James 4:6).

Do you easily fall into envy and jealousy, hatred and bitterness? Learn from Cain who entertained the same and eventually killed his brother. Rather than curtail his evil desires, he created an easy access for other negative emotions like guilt, fear etc. Remember, fear has torment (2 Tim. 1:7) and bitterness defiles (Heb. 12:15).

Joseph found a place in his heart to forgive his brothers in spite of the evils they had committed against him. Why can’t you do the same? Negative emotions will break your spirit, trigger deeper problems, create self-inflicted injuries and hurt your loved ones, damaging healthy relationships. At the end, you gain nothing but lose more than you ever bargained for.

The final blow is that you offend yourself, others and God. What a calamity! God has called us to healthy and vibrant expressions of our emotions; think positively, act and react responsibly. Our words should be graceful and edifying, not harsh and offensive to God and our fellow men (Prov.15:1; Ps. 19:14; Col. 4:6).

By doing this, you assume your ordained position in God through Christ and win more souls, expanding the Kingdom of God.

Gal. 5:16 – This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Motivational Quote
Refuse to be a slave to unhealthy emotions. Detach yourself from that which can destroy you. Determine to embrace the mind of Christ at all cost.

Prophetic Word
Today, your days of conscious and unconscious slavery to negative emotions and ungodly mindset are over by the power in the Blood of Jesus.

1. There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,
No, not one! No, not one!
None else could heal all our soul’s diseases,
No, not one! No, not one!

Jesus knows all about our struggles,
He will guide till the day is done;
There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,
No, not one! No, not one!

2. No friend like Him is so high and holy:
No, not one! No, not one!
And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,
No, not one! No, not one!

3. There’s not an hour that He is not near us,
No, not one! No, not one!
No night so dark but His love can cheer us,
No, not one! No, not one!

MFM Daily Devotional 26th January 2021 Prayer Point

1. Enemies of peace and rest in my life, jump out and die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Robbers of joy in my life, your time is up. Come out and die, in the name of Jesus.
3. O God, arise and anoint my tongue to speak wisely, in the name of Jesus.

4. Inherited and acquired bad habits, I reject you. Release me and die, in the name of Jesus.
5. O Lord, help me to live a life that is pleasing unto You, in the name of Jesus.
6. Collective captivity of my father’s house and of my mother’s house, break and release me, in the name of Jesus.
7. Anything that will disqualify me from eternity in heaven, O God, arise and deliver me from it, in the name of Jesus.

Joel Osteen Devotional 3 March 2021 – Better Is Coming

Joel Osteen Devotional 3 March 2021, Joel Osteen Devotional 3 March 2021 – Better Is Coming, Premium News24

Joel Osteen Devotional 3 March 2021 Today’s Message

Topic: Better Is Coming

Today’s Scripture
Ecclesiastes 7:8, AMPC – Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of it.

Today’s Word with Joel Osteen Devotional 3 March 2021
You may have had a rough start, but you don’t have to have a rough finish. Better is the end. Don’t keep dwelling on the negatives of the past. God is saying, Something better is coming. You may be going through a rough spot today, but better is coming. Don’t cancel out the better by dwelling on the regrets, the failures, and what didn’t work out. If your mind is always on yesterday, you’re going to move in that direction. Better is coming, healing is coming, and breakthroughs are coming.

You’re not defined by your past; you’re prepared by your past. If the past hadn’t happened, you wouldn’t be prepared for the better that is coming your way. You may have made some mistakes, but you can’t do anything about what happened yesterday. Living with guilt is not going to make anything better. It’s time to drop it. You’ll not only feel a weight lift off of you, but you’ll step into the better things God has in store.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You for my past, the successes and victories as well as the mistakes and failures. Thank You that the past has prepared me for today and for the better things You have in store for me. I believe breakthroughs are coming, new opportunities are coming, and healings are coming. In Jesus Name, Amen.

In Touch Daily Devotional 3rd March 2021 By Dr Charles Stanley Today’s Message

Topic: The Struggle With Jealousy

Today’s Scripture: 1 Samuel 18:5-16(King James Version)

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick.

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?

And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.

10 And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand.

11 And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with it. And David avoided out of his presence twice.

12 And Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, and was departed from Saul.

13 Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.

14 And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him.

15 Wherefore when Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he was afraid of him.

16 But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.

In Touch Daily Devotional 3rd March 2021 By Dr Charles Stanley

Jealousy is an emotion of displeasure over someone else’s good fortune. Constantly comparing ourselves to others leads to discontent, resentment, and bitterness. If these negative emotions remain unchecked, they can poison our relationships. What’s more, they can eventually flare into suspicion, anger, and hostility.

This is what happened to King Saul. His jealousy caused him to distrust David, who had served him faithfully. Saul’s suspicious attitude led to hostility and irrational behavior—so much so that he hurled a spear at David while the young man was playing music (1 Samuel 18:10-12). Instead of being grateful for David’s loyalty and steadfast service, the king repaid him with animosity and death threats. As a result, David was eventually forced to flee and hide in the wilderness (1 Samuel 23:15-26).

Jealousy is not something to be excused or rationalized. Ask the Lord to examine your heart and show you if any of these symptoms of jealousy are present in your life. If they are, confess them as sin and ask Him to uproot them from your heart. Then focus on God’s faithfulness instead of comparing yourself with others.

Seeds of Destiny Devotional 3 March 2021 – You Must Live

Seeds of Destiny Devotional 3 March 2021, Seeds of Destiny Devotional 3 March 2021 – You Must Live, Premium News24

Seeds of Destiny Devotional 3 March 2021 Today’s Guide By Dr. Paul Enenche

TOPIC: You Must Live (Scroll down for Seeds of Destiny 3 March 2021)

SCRIPTURE: I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: Deuteronomy 30:19.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You have a choice in the matter of your life and destiny.

Seeds of Destiny Devotional 3 March 2021 Message:

Sometime ago, I went to visit a woman who was critically ill at the hospital. Her health condition had deteriorated. At a point, they fixed an oxygen mask on her to breathe.

At this time, four of her children were not yet married, and they were in the hospital with her. I pointed at them one-by-one and told her that she must live to see them get married. She must live to see her children’s children. When I said that, there was an injection of fire into her. The matter was over! Then she said, “I will live. I will take care of my children. I must see my children get married. I must see my children’s children.” Instantly, she was healed, and under twenty-four hours, the oxygen mask was removed from her.

Today, all her children are married.

Beloved, you have a choice in the matter of your life and destiny. You are not at the mercy of the devil; the devil is at your mercy. You shall fulfil your days. You shall fulfil your destiny. You shall fulfil the purpose of God for your life, in Jesus’ Name.

But you must first make the choice to live.

REMEMBER THIS: You have a choice in the matter of your life and destiny.

1. Refuse to bow to the forces of danger and death.

2. Always have something to be alive for.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to always place the future before me. Help me not to bow to the forces of death and destruction, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: It is good to note that survival is a function of Wisdom. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 9-12

AMAZING FACT: Male and female eagles make a very good parenting tandem. The male’s job is to guarantee that there is food in their nests, while the female roosts at their nest for 35 days to keep their eggs warm.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: You shall fulfil God’s perfect plan and purpose for your life in the earth in Jesus’ Name.
