FIRE SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 6:6-11 (KJV)

6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?

10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man..

MEMORY VERSE: “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” – Luke 14:28

Prayerful planning and preparation prevents poor performance.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:

MFM Daily Devotional 2nd January 2021 MESSAGE:

Do you want the New Year to be a huge success story for you? Set good goals and make the Holy Spirit-led plans. Goal setting and planning are not the only keys to success in all endeavours, they are also important for problem solving at personal and other levels. Whenever the year begins, many people often run from pillar to post in search of a formula that will make them succeed.

Those who go to the Only Wise God in prayer and read His word, get His guidance and obey it, often record desired success. Conversely, those who lean on their own understanding or fail to set goals and make plans usually fail woefully. This year, the God that answers by fire will give you huge success and make you a bigger bundle of testimonies, in the name of Jesus.

In setting your goals, you should seek God’s guidance and ensure that they align with the word and will of God. Have faith in His unfailing ability to help you set the right goals and empower you to achieve them. Believe that He journeys with you and has your best in mind. Also, you must have plans for achieving the goals you have set. Be humble enough to let God take the lead and have His way and will. In addition, you must commit yourself to the tasks involved in fulfilling your goals. Achieving goals require hard work; be prepared to put in your best effort. In case you face some challenges, do not give up. With perseverance, you will succeed. Moreover, you need to count the cost. As you set goals and make plans for achieving them, you need to do the necessary homework to ascertain that they are realistic and achievable.

Some people do not achieve their goals because they do not set those goals properly in the first place. So you need to learn to set good goals. Someone said that a goal properly set is halfway reached. I agree with him. Write your goals down. Believe in them and act on them prayerfully!

Finally, as a Christian, make sure the motivation for your goal is right. What is the result you are aiming at? If your motivation is to become super rich, buy exotic mansions and private jets and move deep into the world, abandoning God’s Kingdom and projects, that is not advisable. Set godly and Kingdom-building goals: to secure a new job so that you can take care of your family, have money for missions, and time to serve your community and church family. You can also set a goal to become a skilled musician so that you can worship God and point others to Christ. Your goal can also be to start a business to gain financial freedom so that your time and funds can be released to grow the Kingdom. Such goals will bring you huge success and God’s unquantifiable blessings.
