MFM Devotional January 4, 2024, Thursday Mountain Top Life Devotional Message written by Dr. D.K Olukoya

TOPIC: Rewards of Faithful Worship

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Genesis 10–12; Matthew 4

MEMORY VERSE:
John 4:24 – God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES:
Worship is an inward feeling and outward action that reflects the worth of God.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY:
The awesome power of worship shall orchestrate divine intervention and glorious turnaround in your life, in the Name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 8:1-4
1 Jesus came down from the hill and a large crowd followed him. 2 A man with a bad disease of the skin came to meet him. He went down on his knees in front of Jesus and he said, ‘Sir, if you want, you can make me well again. Please do it.’
3 Jesus put out his hand towards him and he touched him. ‘I do want to help you. Be clean again,’ Jesus said. Immediately, the man’s skin was clean again.

4 Jesus said to the man, ‘Listen. You must not tell anyone about this. Instead, go and show yourself to the priest. Take a gift to him for God. Moses taught the people what gift to take to God after this kind of disease. This will show everyone that you are now well again.’

PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

MFM Devotional January 4, 2024 – Thursday MESSAGE:

There are tremendous benefits that come with worship. When a believer connects to God through true worship, he or she will be bountifully blessed. Let us examine some of the benefits that believers get when they worship God in truth and Spirit.

The first is the peace of God. In 2 Thessalonians 3:16, the Bible describes God as the God of all peace. In Bible terms, peace is not just the absence of conflict; it means completeness, soundnesss and welfare. It is complete wellness in every area and being without deficiency or lack. When you devote your life to worshipping God, the only source of peace, you will experience His peace which is different from the peace of the world (John 14:27).

The second benefit of worship is deliverance from torment. In the Old Testament, when King Saul was being tormented by an evil spirit, David would take the harp and play it and the tormenting spirit would depart from Saul (1 Samuel 16:23). This shows that worship is a powerful weapon against the enemy’s torment.

Are you in any kind of bondage or you are being tormented by any malevolent spirit? I advise you to give God quality worship constantly. He will break your gates of brass, cut your bars of iron in sunder and you will be free.

The third benefit of worship is that it provokes divine intervention. In 2 Chronicles 20, when Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah were confronted by the combined forces of enemy nations with soldiers that far outnumbered theirs and they were at their wits’ end, God spoke through a prophet and told them to worship Him. They did, saying, “For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever.” God intervened and the soldiers of the enemies turned against one another and were completely destroyed.

Similarly, in Matthew 8:1-3, a leper who was contaminated, ill, rejected, impure and incurable went to Jesus. The first thing he did was to worship Jesus. Then he said, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” The Bible says that Jesus’ response was positive: He touched the leper and said, “I will; be thou clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Worship also orchestrates open heavens, changes bad seasons to good seasons and brings down God’s glory. It pays great dividends.

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Father, as I worship You today, let mercy triumph over judgement and speak for me, in the Name of Jesus.
2. I claim the perfect peace, complete wellness, soundness and welfare that come from the true worship of God, in the Name of Jesus.
3. Father, as I worship You today, let me experience Your intervention and deliverance, in the Name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. My Father, let worship provoke open heavens for me, in the Name of Jesus.
5. Let my worship of the Most High God orchestrate angelic assistance for me today, in the Name of Jesus.
6. O God, as I worship You, change bad seasons to good seasons and good seasons to the best seasons for me, in the Name of Jesus.
7. My Father, reward my worship with blessings that money can buy and those that money cannot buy, in the Name of Jesus.
