Our Daily Bread Today Devotional 27th January 2021 Wednesday Message By Our Daily Bread Ministries, written By Patricia Raybon

Topic: Free at Last

Today’s Scripture: John 8:31–36(NIV)

Key Verse: If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. – John 8:36

Bible in a Year: Exodus 16–18; Matthew 18:1–20

INSIGHT: The Jews presumptuously believed that their spiritual heritage as Abraham’s descendants had given them a special standing with God—a misguided sense of privilege, immunity, and false spirituality (John 8:3339). But they had failed in their responsibility and duty as God’s chosen people (Deuteronomy 10:12–13). Jesus warned the teachers of the law and the Pharisees that they had “neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness” (Matthew 23:23) and “the love of God” (Luke 11:42; see Micah 6:8). Their privileged status as Abraham’s descendants blinded them, causing them to dishonestly say that they had “never been slaves of anyone” (John 8:33), when throughout their history they had been enslaved by Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece, Syria, and Rome. They also refused to see that they were slaves to sin (v. 34). They wouldn’t acknowledge that Jesus is who He claims to be—their promised Messiah (7:26–27, 40–43; 8:25).

Our Daily Bread Today Devotional 27th January 2021 Message

Twenty long years passed before British journalist John McCarthy—a five-year hostage during Lebanon’s grueling civil war—met the man who negotiated his release. When McCarthy finally met U.N. envoy Giandomenico Picco, McCarthy simply said, “Thank you for my freedom!” His heartfelt words carried great weight because Picco had risked his own life during dangerous negotiations to secure freedom for McCarthy and others.

We as believers can relate to such hard-won freedom. Jesus gave up His life—enduring death on a Roman cross—to secure spiritual freedom for all people, including each of us. Now as His children, we know “it is for freedom that Christ has set us free,” the apostle Paul boldly declared (Galatians 5:1).

The gospel of John also teaches of freedom in Christ, noting, “If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).

But free in what ways? In Jesus, we experience freedom not only from sin and its hold on us but also from guilt, shame, worry, Satan’s lies, superstitions, false teaching, and eternal death. No longer hostages, we have freedom to show love to enemies, walk in kindness, live with hope, and love our neighbors. As we follow the Holy Spirit’s leading, we can forgive as we’ve been forgiven.

For all of this, let’s thank God today. Then let’s love so others will know the power of His freedom too.

Reflect & Pray

What spiritual chains still hold you hostage? As you release those chains to God, what words can you use to thank Him for setting you free?

Dear liberating God, thank You for my freedom—for setting me free from spiritual death and releasing me to love.

Seeds of Destiny 5th March 2021 Devotional Guide By Dr. Paul Enenche

TOPIC: Go After The Devil

SCRIPTURE: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence.

From our anchor Scripture, the Bible says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. That is a great promise and command from God regarding our triumph over the enemy.

Now, another way to read or render our anchor Scripture, Luke 10:19, is:

“Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence!”

This is a command from the God!

So, in your family, in your office, in your generation, go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works and proceed without consequence. Go after the witches and wizards, go after the powers of darkness, break the head of the devil using them, destroy his works and proceed without consequence.

In case someone asks you to tell them what God has shown you or what you have learned from Scripture in this season, tell them, “Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence.”

If someone else is eager to hear something from you, tell them, “Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence.”

Beloved, there is enough power in you to function as if the devil does not exist. Go after the devil; the devil shouldn’t be the one coming after you. There is enough power in you to deal with the devil. And today, I decree the release of that power on you in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Go after the devil, break his head, destroy his works, and proceed without consequence.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to go after the devil.

2. Break his head, destroy His works, and proceed without consequence.

PRAYER: I receive the grace to exercise full control, dominion and victory over the devil, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: POWER TO TREAD.

QUOTE: Just as there is security in the palaces of power, there is security in the presence of the Most High. Culled from “15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 17-19

AMAZING FACT: The Bible has inspired more songs than anything else.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Power to keep the devil permanently in defeat is released upon you in Jesus’ Name.

Joyce Meyer Devotional 5th March 2021 Today’s Message

Topic: You Can Do All Things Through Christ

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency].- Philippians 4:13 (AMPC)

One thought that has the power to transform your life is simple: Through Christ, I can handle whatever life hands me. I wonder—do you believe you can do whatever you need to do? Or are there certain things that trigger dread, fear, or cause you to say, “I could never do that!” when you think about them?

Whether it’s suddenly losing a loved one, facing a serious unexpected illness, having your adult child with two toddlers move into your clean and quiet house after you’ve had an “empty nest” for years, going on a strict diet because your life depends on it, putting yourself on a budget to avoid foreclosure on your home, or suddenly having to care for a disabled elderly parent—most people have some kind of situation that truly seems impossible to them, something they aren’t sure they can handle.

No matter what that circumstance is for you, God’s Word has good news: even in the most unpleasant and difficult situations, God has provided the strength you need to do whatever you need to do in life. He doesn’t say everything will be easy for us, but He’s promised to stick with us through every moment, so we can enjoy life in the midst of doing hard things (see Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:9).

We need to understand that Philippians 4:13 does not say we can do anything we want to do because we are strong enough, smart enough, or hardworking enough. God’s grace actually has nothing to do with our effort or striving at all—it’s through His strength alone that we can accomplish anything.

[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. — Philippians 2:13 (AMPC)

What in your life do you need to begin to believe you can do? Know that whatever it is, God is willing and able to work in and through you to accomplish it.

Prayer Starter: Jesus, thank You for making a way for me to accomplish everything that You’ve called me to do. Please help me always remember to lean on Your strength, not mine, because You’re the only One with the power to bring me through this. In Your name, amen.

Joseph Prince Devotional 5th March 2021 Today’s Message

Topic: Jesus Wants You to Reign in Life!

For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. – Romans 5:17

I am sure you know that Romans 5:17 is a verse I love to preach on. It tells us that those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through Jesus Christ!

My friend, when you reign in life, you reign over sin and destructive addictions. You reign over sickness and disease. You reign over poverty and lack. In other words, you reign over anything that holds you back from experiencing the abundant life that Jesus died to give you!

Beloved, the Lord’s desire is for you to reign in life. The more you receive the revelation of the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness, the more you will experience His abundant provision for every area of your life. Now, we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of Christ (see Rom. 10:17, NASB), so keep on hearing the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness preached. The more you hear, the more you will receive.
