TOPIC: A Timely Warning And Encouragement

OPENING PRAYER: Sanctify my life dear Lord as I study your word in Jesus name.

SCRIPTURE: 2 Chronicles 15:1‐19

SU DAILY GUIDE FOR 28TH OCTOBER 2022 MESSAGE

Take note that it was immediately after the victory over the Ethiopian army that Azariah, led by the Spirit of God, warned Asa and the people of Judah against forsaking the Lord (vs.1‐2). What do you think about the reason and timing of this warning?

The temptation to become slack and complacent about our relationship with God when things are going smoothly is real, but we must guard against such because the consequences can be grievous (see vs.3‐6). Read v.7 again. God recognised Judah’s work and encouraged them to keep it up. What reason did God give for the encouragement?

How did Asa respond to God’s encouragement (vs.8‐18)? God’s word of encouragement boosted Asa’s morale and performances. He and his people did not only carry out physical reforms but also renewed their relationship with God, and as a result, he enjoyed many more years of peaceful reign (vs.15c,19).

The Bible also contains lots of encouragements with promises of rewards for our labour both in this life and hereafter. These should motivate us to continue to serve God with all our hearts (1 Corinthians 15:58).

☀ The SUPB who produce the Reading Notes despite the increase in the cost of production.

PRAY FOR:
☛ Godly wisdom for our brethren who invest in the production of SU daily Reading Notes that God will replenish their source.
☛ Our brethren to use their God given tendencies and talents diligently so that God will increase their wealth.
☛ More brethren to see the need to invest in souls of men, as we distribute Reading notes to those who cannot afford to pay.

PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ All business failures that will make brethren not be willing to support the work.
⚠ Failing to sow into spiritual things despite God’s blessings upon our lives.
