Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, make me more like you through the power of your word as I meditate on it.

This psalm is essentially a repetition of Psalm 14, with a few small modifications, probably intended to give faith and courage to Israel amid national challenge, such as the threat of invasion.
The fountain of sin is when men begin to say that there is no God. David looked at those who denied the existence of God and gave them a name, see v.1. A fool here is more moral than intellectual. David had in mind those who simply reject God and turn to their wicked ways. Those who, like many in our society, claim to believe in God but live as if He does not exist are in the same class.
Notice the behaviour of wicked people in vs.1b, 3 & 4b. As we live in times where some people have turned to atheism, what warnings do we draw from Hebrews 10:38? Instead of granting assurances of God’s presence to the sinful man, v.5 spells out the ruin of the wicked. Their bones are scattered. They are put to shame and consequently rejected by God.
A yearning for the establishment of God’s kingdom when He will restore the captives and make us rejoice is in us all (v.6).

Closing Prayer
Dear Lord, we pray that the rule of the wicked over the righteous will end so your people will rejoice again.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with James 4:7

► Most of our roads are death traps because of their deplorable states.
PRAY FOR:
►Government will give attention to rehabilitating these roads.
►The Lord will expose and judge all those who have embezzled the funds meant for these projects.
