Seeds of Destiny 29th January 2021 Friday Devotional Message By Dr. Paul Enenche

TOPIC: More Understanding of Discipline

SCRIPTURE: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. 1 Corinthians 9:27

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Discipline is the delaying of gratification for the establishment of distinction.

Earlier, we saw that discipline is doing what is required to get at what is desired. It is doing what it takes to get to where you want to be. If the top is your desire, then what to do to get there is called discipline.

Today we shall be gaining more understanding of the subject of discipline.

What then is discipline on the journey of excellence?

1. Discipline implies a life under control, rule, routine or schedule (1 Corinthians 9:27).

When we say a man is disciplined, it means that his life is under control; he is a man of rules, routines and schedules.

On the other hand, when we say a man lacks discipline, it means his life is out of control; no rule governs his life; he has no set of routines, no schedule. He can jump into a car going to Lagos when a friend invites him suddenly.

2. Discipline implies the stretching of oneself to achieve desired objectives (1 Kings 17:21).

The stretching of oneself to achieve desired objectives is called discipline. There can be no reach without a stretch; to reach anywhere in life, you must stretch to get there. There is no prize without price.

3. Discipline is saying NO to the unprofitable and saying YES to the profitable (Luke 9:23).

Discipline is the delaying of gratification for the establishment of distinction. There are things that are legitimate but not profitable (1 Cor. 10:23). Apostle Paul said, all things are lawful for me but all things are not expedient. For example, if you eat every morning, you didn’t break any law and no one can take you to a court of law. But for the sake of your future and destiny, there is a need to fast and pray once in a while in order to realise your destiny.

REMEMBER THIS: Discipline is the delaying of gratification for the establishment of distinction.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Put your life under control by scheduling it.

2. Stretch yourself to reach your goal.

3. Say “No” to anything that will rob you of your chance of fulfilling destiny.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the grace to live a scheduled life. Help me not to be loose in life but to be under rules, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Financial discipline determines financial dignity. Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW’ by Dr Paul Enenche.

Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional 6th March 2021 Today’s Message

TOPIC: Triumph

But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ’s victory] and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere.

Triumph = To obtain victory

We’re all fighting a battle for our thoughts on the battlefield of our minds, and it’s easy to get discouraged when we don’t reach victory all at once. But it’s important to understand that we can’t triumph over and destroy spiritual enemies like anger, selfishness, bitterness, jealousy (or whatever we might be dealing with) all at one time, or instantly.
God deals with things in our lives one at a time, and the changes we need require patience. If you push to get ahead of God, you won’t make the progress you want, but you will get very frustrated and confused. Without God’s grace, it’s impossible to triumph, even if we have the best of intentions.

Whatever spiritual enemies you’re facing today, ask God to for the grace and wisdom to do your part, and trust Him to do His part. Instead of trying to do it in your own strength or getting discouraged because you aren’t there yet, ask Him to go before you and give you the victory. As you pray, listen, and wait on Him, He’ll help you grow in freedom from any sin, bad habit, or addiction in your life.

Prayer Starter: Father, please help me trust You to strengthen me to fight the battles I’m facing. Thank You for going before me to do what I can’t do, for always being there to help, and for giving me the victory I need at the right time. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Joseph Prince Devotional 6th March 2021 Today’s Message

TOPIC: The Divine Exchange Has Set You Free

In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. – 1 John 4:9

Jesus wore the crown of thorns on His head so that you can have a sound mind free from fears, guilt, depression, anxieties and stress.

Jesus’ feet brought Him to places where there was lack, diseases, condemnation and even death. At the cross, those feet were nail-pierced so that you do not need to be in such places yourself. He has rescued you from having to accept and suffer these things in life.

Jesus didn’t have to. He chose to. Why? Because He loves you. He spared not even Himself so that you may have every blessing of health, wholeness and abundant life!

Victorious Praise
Gloria Copeland

Scripture: When he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to sing to the Lord and praise Him in their holy [priestly] garments as they went out before the army, saying, Give thanks to the Lord, for His mercy and lovingkindness endure forever! – 2 Chronicles 20:21, The Amplified Bible

Praise precedes victory!

You can see a graphic example of that in 2 Chronicles 20. There, the Bible tells us that a multitude of forces was marching against Israel. The army of Israel was so outnumbered, they literally didn’t know what to do. So they fasted and prayed until they received a word from God. “Be not afraid or dismayed at this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicle 20:15, The Amplified Bible).

Do you know what they did in response to that word? They put together a praise choir! That’s right. They appointed singers and praisers and sent them out in front of the army! And when that choir began to sing, the Word tells us that “the Lord set ambushments against the men…who had come against Judah, and they were [self-]slaughtered” (verse 22).

When it was all over, not one Israelite had fallen—and not one of their enemies had escaped. What’s more, when they came to take the spoil, they found so many cattle, goods, garments and other precious things, it took them three whole days to haul it all home.

Now, that’s victory! And it all began with praise.

Are you looking for that kind of victory today? Then stand up and shout, “Glory!” After all, you’re in the same situation those Israelites were in. You have an army marching against you, but Jesus has already defeated it. He won that battle for you on Resurrection morning.

All that’s left for you to do is trust Him and begin to praise. Sound out those praises today. Speak them, sing them, declare them in the face of your enemy. Once he hears them, he’ll know he doesn’t even stand a chance.
