TOPIC: The Highest Privilege In Life
SCRIPTURE: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nothing can be compared to being the son or daughter of the Most High God.
Previously, we saw that whose son you are determines the privileges you can enjoy in life and in destiny.
I will use a personal experience to illustrate this point further: there were things I struggled to do in times past that my children don’t need to struggle to do now. For example, the first time I wanted to travel to a country in Europe, I went to the embassy of that country in Abuja, Nigeria, to get the visa and was asked all manner of questions. Questions like, “Have you travelled out of Nigeria before?” “How many times have you travelled?” And as a matter of fact, at that time, I had not travelled out of the country before.
However, today, if they asked my children, “Have you travelled before?” The answer is a bold “Yes”. They have been travelling since their childhood days. So, my children don’t need to pass through the rigorous stress of getting visas in order to travel; they have jumped that step. So, who gave birth to you has a way of affecting what you can access in life.
Beloved, if we can access this level of privilege by virtue of who our earthly father is, how much more privilege do we stand to enjoy as children of God, our heavenly Father?
Nothing can be compared to being the son or daughter of the Most High God, the Owner of heaven and earth, the Governor-General of the universe, the one who was not appointed, nominated, selected or elected, and His position can never be contested. He is the ageless, die-less, tireless, limitless God who exists from everlasting to everlasting (Psalm 90:2). Being the son or daughter of God is, indeed the highest privilege on earth.
Remember this: Nothing can be compared to being the son or daughter of the Most High God.
1. Appreciate God for making you His son or daughter (if you are born again).
2. Make up your mind now to give your life to Jesus Christ if you are not yet born again.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the privilege of sonship. Help me to be Your true son, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

In Touch Ministries Devotional 8th March 2021 – Always in His Presence
Topic: Always in His Presence
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 139:1-12
1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O LORD, You know it all.
5 You have enclosed me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot attain to it.
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,”
12 Even the darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.
In Touch Ministries Devotional 8th March 2021 By Dr Charles Stanley Message:
In today’s reading, David asked, “Where can I go from Your Spirit?” (Psalm 139:7). The more he pondered the possibilities, the more he realized the answer is “nowhere.” God is present everywhere and at all times. This reality causes people to react in one of two ways—some find it a great comfort while others are filled with dread.
People who don’t know the Lord may think that He’s always judging their every move. But for those of us who belong to God through faith in His Son, His continual presence is a great comfort. We never have to walk through trials and heartaches alone, and we have complete confidence that He’s always providing, protecting, and guiding us through life.
This truth should change how we live. Knowing that God is ever-present motivates us to think, speak, and behave in ways that glorify Him. It’s a reminder to stand firm against temptations and pursue holiness.
There’s never a single moment in which the Lord is not looking out for your best interests. Nothing slips past Him into your life by accident, nor does the enemy have even a nanosecond’s opportunity to destroy you. This is the security we receive as believers, so let’s rejoice in knowing God is always with us.

Streams of Joy Devotional 8th March 2021 – Your Oil Will Multiply
Topic: Your Oil Will Multiply
Focus Scripture: “And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.” (2 Kings 4: 2)
Pastor Jerry Eze Streams of Joy Devotional 8th March 2021 Message:
The widow of one of the sons of the prophets had a pot of oil in her house, and that pot of oil became the seed that birthed her increase. Elisha told her to pour that oil into as many vessels as she could borrow, and every available vessel was filled with oil. So her oil multiplied. The pot that contained the oil did not multiply, but the oil multiplied. The container remained the same, but the content went to a new level.
Friend, you may still be a little pot of oil, but God says, your oil is about to multiply. Your content will be multiplied; your greatness will be multiplied; your capacity/abilities will be multiplied; your ideas will be multiplied; your influence will be multiplied; what you have in you will be multiplied. You may still look as ordinary as ever, but you will witness extraordinary manifestations of God’s goodness.
The same pot that only had a little oil became a pot that filled several other pots. It didn’t change, but its capacity and results changed for the better. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you may not change but your capacity will change, your results will change, your impact will change, your influence/importance will change, your access to high places will change, and your destiny placement will change. You may be same, but your content will overflow.
If Jesus has redeemed you, you need not be more than a ‘small pot’ for your results to rise higher. If Jesus has redeemed you, the same location, job, business, relationships, career, etc that never gave you meaningful results in time past will begin to yield massive results that will blow your mind and make you smile. The redemptive work of Jesus in your life has some impact on your capacity if you dare to look inwards.
Don’t be fixated on the big pots of this world. Be content to be that pot that will fill other vessels with oil.
Isaiah 54:3 says: “For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.”
Declare With Me: My pot may not multiply, but my oil will multiply; my content will be multiplied, in Jesus’ name!

Our Daily Bread 8th March 2021 Devotional – The Reason for Writing
Our Daily Bread 8th March 2021 Today Devotional Message for Monday By Our Daily Bread Ministries, Written By John Blase
Topic: The Reason for Writing
Today’s Scripture: John 20:24–31
Key Verse: But these are written that you may believe. – John 20:31
INSIGHT: Thomas is mentioned among Jesus’ disciples in Matthew, Mark, and Luke, but it’s John’s gospel that gives us a close-up view of him. John’s account of Jesus includes six scenes where Thomas appears (all in chapters 11–20), and he first speaks in 11:16 after the death of Lazarus. Jesus’ well-known words in John 14:6—“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”—were in response to Thomas’ query, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” (v. 5).
In John, we see Thomas as a pessimist and realist—inquisitive, human, honest. And he’s commonly referred to as “doubting Thomas” because of his words in John 20:25 and Jesus’ response to him in verse 27. But his last recorded words reveal that he was convinced of who Jesus is: “My Lord and my God!” (v. 28).
Our Daily Bread 8th March 2021 Today Devotional Message
“The Lord is my high tower . . . . We left the camp singing.” On September 7, 1943, Etty Hillesum wrote those words on a postcard and threw it from a train. Those were the final recorded words we would hear from her. On November 30, 1943, she was murdered at Auschwitz. Later, Hillesum’s diaries of her experiences in a concentration camp were translated and published. They chronicled her perspectives on the horrors of Nazi occupation along with the beauty of God’s world. Her diaries have been translated into sixty-seven languages—a gift to all who would read and believe the good as well as the bad.
The apostle John didn’t sidestep the harsh realities of Jesus’ life on earth; he wrote of both the good Jesus did and the challenges He faced. The final words from his gospel give insight into the purpose behind the book that bears his name. Jesus performed “many other signs . . . which are not recorded” (20:30) by John. But these, he says, were “written that you may believe” (v. 31). John’s “diary” ends on the note of triumph: “Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God.” The gift of those gospel words allows us the opportunity to believe and “have life in his name.”
The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) are diary accounts of God’s love for us. They’re words to read and believe and share, for they lead us to life. They lead us to Christ.
Reflect & Pray
How might it change the way you read the Gospels if you thought of them as diaries? How are you being led to the heart of Christ through them?
Gracious God, thank You for the gift of the Scriptures, written down by faithful hands so that I might believe and have life.
