Dunamis SOD TOPIC: The Healing Power of Joy
SCRIPTURE: Then he said unto them, go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Joy is a killer of death while depression is a facilitator of death.
The Scripture makes it clear that the Joy of the Lord releases strength, energy, vitality and health. (Nehemiah 8:10).
Joy is a channel of Divine healing. Joy is a transmitter of healing. Joy is a communicator of health, strength, energy and vitality. The Joy of the Lord gives strength.
Merriment is medicinal and joy is therapeutic (Proverbs 17:22).
A long time ago, I heard the story of a man who was diagnosed with a terminal disease; it was cancer. When he received the diagnosis, he requested that they play some exciting comic videos for him; that is, some healthy, holy and humorous videos.
As he watched those videos, he laughed. His purpose of watching the videos was something like, “At least, let me enjoy myself and be happy before I die”.
As he watched the videos and laughed, he discovered that the cancer had died after six weeks. This means, the “death” died. The death that wanted to kill him died.
Can you see? Joy is a killer of death while depression is a facilitator of death.
In hospitals today, most patients are not happy; they are not smiling and unknown to them, their state of depression establishes their afflictions.
Proverbs 17:22 says,
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
My counsel is, make the choice for joy. Do not let your condition determine your outcome; change your condition by your behaviour. Whenever the devil wants to make you sick, which is not your portion, make a choice for the joy of the Lord which gives you strength, energy, health and vitality.
REMEMBER THIS: Joy is a killer of death while depression is a facilitator of death.
ASSIGNMENTS:
- Make an unconditional decision for joy. Always stay excited regardless of any situation of life.
- Do not allow your condition to determine your behaviour; change your condition by your behaviour. Receive Grace of God to do so.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for showing me the key of joy as a boost for Divine health. I receive the grace to permanently live in joy, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
