ADDICTION TO GOD: A PATHWAY TO EXCELLENCE

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Men of old rode to the realm of distinction and excellence by the vehicle of the God-first mentality.

It has been established that one of the attributes of people of excellence and distinction is the God-first mentality.
Men of old rode to the realm of distinction and excellence by the vehicle of the God-first mentality. They did not hide their identity with God in their generation. They were so addicted to God and His Kingdom that nothing and no one could stand between them and God. They affected and impacted their world by virtue of the God-first mentality or addiction to God.
Now, one Scriptural example of men of old who existed in an unusual realm of distinction and excellence is Abraham. Abraham existed in the realm of enviable wealth, excellence and distinction by the agency of the God-first mentality.
Abraham was, without doubt, the most important personality in his generation. His name and identity could not be buried because God made him great.
And the secret of Abraham’s greatness was his God-first mentality. Abraham was addicted to God and His cause.
In Genesis 18:19 God testified about Abraham and said;
For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.
What a testimony! This was because Abraham was addicted to God. This was the reason why he could command his household to follow God.
Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to be brutally addicted to God so you can exist in the realm of excellence and distinction like Abraham.
REMEMBER THIS: Men of old rode to the realm of distinction and excellence by the vehicle of the God-first mentality.

1. Make addiction to God a priority of your life.
2. Spend time with God in personal fellowship, and intimacy.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask for a fresh baptism of zeal and passion for You. Deliver me from spiritual lethargy, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
