TOPIC: Walk In Obedience
FOCUS: “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.” (Genesis 26: 5)
In our Focal Scripture, God seemed to give reasons why He was unleashing the blessings of heaven upon Isaac. God said, “Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws”. Abraham’s obedience to God became the platform for Isaac to receive blessings that he did not labour for. Abraham’s obedience to God opened the floodgates of blessings upon Isaac.
Friend, did you know that your obedience to God can be a platform for heaven to release blessings on your offspring? Did you know that what you do for God today, and what you do in your walk with God, can position your next generation for blessings they did not necessarily merit? Did you know that you can serve God in a way that will pave the way for the greatness of your offspring? Did you know that your obedience is a blessing for your seed?
God was going to cause the seed of Isaac to multiply as the stars in the sky; He was going to give them countries; He was going to bless them greatly, because of the obedience of Abraham. What Abraham did right, caused God to do good to his seed. May it be said that your obedience to God caused Him to show kindness to your offspring. May it be said that your obedience to God caused Him to bless your next generation greatly.
If the obedience of Abraham caused God to bless Isaac and his seed, then imagine what the disobedience of Abraham would have done to the next generation. Imagine what your own disobedience to God could be costing your next generation. Imagine the damage you may be doing to the future of your offspring by reason of doing what God would not have you do. Imagine the damage you are doing to your children for failing God.
Don’t be counted amongst them whose disobedience caused problems and attracted curses for the next generation. Like Abraham, let it be said that your obedience to God caused Him to show mercy to your next generation.
Proverbs 13: 22 says: “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
DECLARATION: I am that man whose obedience to God will attract blessings for my next generation, in Jesus’ name!
