TOPIC: No Half Measures
FOCUS: “Then spake the woman whose the living child was unto the king, for her bowels yearned upon her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wise slay it. But the other said, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.” (1 Kings 3: 26)
Streams of Joy Devotional 30th August 2023 MESSAGE:
When King Solomon offered to divide the living child into two, the one who was the real mother of the child opted not to have the child divided, but the one whose aim was to steal the child, insisted that it was okay to have a divided child. The woman who sought to steal another woman’s child, was comfortable with having a child that had been divided into two, and Solomon promptly denied her possession of the child.
Friend, those who are comfortable with half measures in life are simply seeking disqualification from their high places. Those who are seeking to operate less than God destined them to operate, are simply seeking to be shut out of the place of relevance and influence. Those who are comfortable to have less and be less than they should and could be, are asking for the kings of this world to disqualify them from what others are qualified for.
Notice that children are complete when they are born. Nobody ordinarily gives birth to a baby divided into two. So the woman who was okay to take half of the child, instead of the full child, was asking for something that even heaven was not okay with. Stop reducing your expectations to a level that even heaven is not okay with. Stop accepting levels that insult God’s intention for you. Stop demanding for portions that embarrass God.
Don’t settle for less than God is willing to give you. Don’t settle for less than you truly deserve. Don’t settle for less than you have capacity for. Don’t settle for results that are way below your destiny mandate. Don’t settle for expectations that are way below what God can do for you. Don’t settle for less than what God promised and less than what God can offer. Don’t accept less when there is more on the table.
If life ever gives you a chance to choose to be more or less, choose to be more; never choose to be less; never choose to have less. Never settle for half measures when you can have the fullness of what God has to offer.
John 1: 16 says: “And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.”
DECLARATION: I won’t settle for less; I choose to be more and have more; no more half measures, in Jesus’ name!
