TOPIC: Agree With God
MEMORY VERSE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 18: 19)
SCRIPTURE READING: Joshua 2:1-24
FOCUS: “And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot’s house, named Rahab, and lodged there.” (Joshua 2: 1)
In our Focal Scripture, Joshua sent out two men to go and spy the city of Jericho. In bible numerology, the number two is symbolic of agreement (see Matthew 18 vs. 19). So, in sending the two men, Joshua was positioning the men to agree with what God was about to do. The pathway to the fulfillment of what God was about to do for them, was the pathway of agreement. They simply agreed with God, and God’s will became their lot.
Friend, the pathway to reaching your destination, is the pathway of saying yes to what God is saying. The pathway to distinction is to agree with the word of the Lord over your life. The pathway of becoming all that God has destined you to become, is to first agree with what God has said about you. The pathway of arriving at the future that God destined for you, is to say yes to the will and plan and purposes of God for your life.
It’s not enough to have God say a word concerning you. If you choose not to believe or agree with the word of the Lord concerning your life, even God Himself will be forced to agree with your refusal and leave you to your wishes. If you fail to agree with the word of the Lord concerning your future, safety, success, life, triumph, etc. you may very easily end up being less than God intended for you to become.
In this season and beyond, say yes to the will of God for your life. Say yes to the plans and purposes of God for you. Say yes to what the scriptures have said about you. Say yes to the visions that God has showed you. Say yes to the Lord. Say yes to who the Lord would have you become. Say yes to the mandate of heaven on your life. Say yes to God. Say yes to Jesus. Say yes to the Spirit of God at work in you. Say yes to God’s power.
Those men worked in agreement into Jericho, and in a matter of time, Jericho became theirs. Walk in agreement with the word of the Lord concerning you and you will enter into your season of fulfillment of all that heaven had destined for you to become.
DECLARATION: I agree with the word of the Lord concerning me, in Jesus’ name!
