Streams of Joy Devotional July 18, 2023 Tuesday Daily Devotional Message by Pastor Jerry Eze

WATCH: NSPPD 18 July 2023 Live Prayers || The Lord Said Yes

TOPIC: Keep Dwelling

FOCUS: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (Psalm 23: 6)

In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist proclaimed that he will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. There were several positive notes in the preceding verses of our Scripture Reading; there was the matter of not being in want; there was the matter of being led beside still waters; there was the matter of goodness and mercy; but the psalmist concluded by saying that he would dwell in the house of the Lord forever. He was not going to walk away because he had received so much goodness.

Friend, glean from the wisdom of the psalmist: no matter how you enjoy the goodness of God, always remember that your primary assignment is to dwell in the house of the Lord. You were made to give God worship. You were created to give God pleasure. You were created so that you can add to the community of those who call upon the name of the Lord. You were made so that you can be the example of God’s goodness to your generation. You were raised to dwell in the house of God.

The psalmist seemed to have received a great deal from God, and his endnote was that he would remain in the house of the Lord, connected to God and stuck in His presence. He got all that he desired from God, but he insisted that he had no better place to be in other than the house of the Lord. No matter how much you have received of God’s goodness and kindness, always remember that you have no better place than His House.

May it never be said that you toned down your relationship with God because He finally granted you the desires of your heart. May it never be said that you stopped joining in cooperate worship because you received speedy answers to your prayers. May it never be said that you walked away from God, because you have finally got what you needed from Him. May it never be said that you took your portion and left where God is.

There is no better place to be than the presence of God. No matter the distractions that life present you with, seek to remain in the house of the Lord forever. Seek to retain your relationship and intimacy with God.

Psalm 91: 1 says: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

DECLARATION: No matter what I receive from God, I refuse to walk away, in Jesus’ name!
