STREAMS OF JOY DEVOTIONAL JULY 30, 2023

Streams of Joy Devotional July 30, 2023 Sunday Daily Devotional Message by Pastor Jerry Eze

TOPIC: It Is Reserved!

FOCUS: “And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’S anointed is before him.” (1 Samuel 16: 6)

MESSAGE: It is instructive to observe that in the enthronement of David, he had his elder brothers who came before him to the sacrifice that doubled as the anointing for the new king. Eliab, Abinadab and other elder brothers of David all showed up before him; but in the end, David was anointed as king. David came late, yet his portion remained until he arrived. David was a latecomer, but he did not miss his throne and crown.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you may come late, but you will not lose your thrones and crowns. You may come late, but you will not miss any portion that heaven has reserved for you. You may come later than others, but no man will take the portion that heaven reserved for you. You may come later than others, but those who came ahead of you will not take your opportunities. You may come late, but you will not lose.

David came late, but what was for him was waiting for him till he came. Hear me as I hear the Lord: even if the lions and bears of this world arrive ahead of you, what God has destined for you will be waiting for you. Your opportunities will be waiting for you. Your clients will be waiting for you; your next level will be waiting for you; your congratulations will be waiting for you; your helpers will be waiting for you.

David came late, yet he became number one amongst his rivals. He came late, but he still overtook those who came ahead of him. In areas where you have already come late, receive the grace and empowerment to become number one. In places where you are already late, receive grace to overtake and take over. Receive grace to take your place despite your rivals and competitors. Receive grace to rise to the top.

Stop worrying about the fact that you are already late, and some people have showed up ahead of you. As surely as the Lord lives, you will still be number one.

Psalm 16: 5 says: “The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.”

DECLARATION: Even if I came late, I will still be number one; I overtake and take over, in Jesus’ name!
