SU Daily Guide For 7th February 2024 MESSAGE:
The plot against Jesus took another turn. The Pharisees wanted to set Him up to have a basis for accusing Him of breaking the law (v.6). Jesus has two options; to agree or disagree with the law. His response to them in v.7 shows clearly that He sees through their plot. Notice what followed (vs.8-11). The Devil and his agents are always plotting against us (1 Peter 5:8). We cannot depend on our wisdom. We need the Holy Spirit to help us every day.
“Go, and sin no more” (v.11), is the Master’s admonition to every repentant and forgiven sinner. We cannot claim to be saved if we are still living in sin.
According to the Law, both the man and woman who committed adultery were to die (Leviticus 20:10). One then wonders why the man was not also dragged into the Temple? This is a clear case of gender-based violence (GBV) and discrimination against women which are also rampant in our society. Unfortunately, the church that should be a place of succour, has also become deeply guilty of perpetrating these ungodly acts against women.
Practice/Word Application
So what? Don’t be quick to judge and condemn others, you might not be any better if your case were to be brought to the open (Matthew 7:3-5).

Closing Prayer
Pray against all forms of gender-based violence and discriminations in our society. Ask God to comfort and strengthen the victims.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Exodus 3:21
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:”
