Topic: Generosity- The Pathway to the Blessing Covenant
SCRIPTURE: And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? – Luke 12:19-20
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Receiving without releasing is dying without knowing.
From our anchor Scripture, we see that it is foolishness to have prosperity without generosity. We also see that refusal to be a distributor qualifies a man for destruction. When a person has decided to store up things for himself alone, he has positioned himself for destruction; he is not qualified to walk in the Blessing Covenant.
Receiving without releasing is dying without knowing. When a man takes in oxygen and refuses to release carbon dioxide, he is preparing to be wheeled to the mortuary.
So, releasing is the purpose of receiving. Before a person can walk in the Blessing Covenant, he must be ready to give towards Kingdom projects and the benefit of humanity.
Now, why does the covenant walk with God demand giving?
1.To break the grip of mammon over the life of the blessed. There are many rich people who are slaves to their money because they are unable to give. Generosity breaks the back of covetousness.
2.To confirm that our faith is not in our resources but in God, our Supplier (Psalm 23:1-2). Anyone who has faith in money does not give out money.
Remember this: receiving without releasing is dying without knowing.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Determine to be a privileged giver towards Kingdom projects, evangelism etc.
2. Put smiles on the faces of the less privileged, orphans and widows.
