2019 Election: Jubilation in Bauchi as governor loses polling unit to PDP

2019 Election: There was wild jubilation on Saturday by voters at the Gindin Durumi Polling Unit, Makama Sarki Baki Ward in Bauchi metropolis, following the announcement of the result of the governorship election.

The jubilation followed the announcement that Governor Mohammad Abubakar, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, lost his polling unit to a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party.

The Presiding Officer, Chinedu Onoura, said the governor polled 288 votes, while the PDP candidate got 358 votes, a difference of 70 votes.

Onuora put the total number of invalid votes at 59.

Our correspondents reported that the governor also lost in his polling unit during the National Assembly election to the Peoples Redemption Party.

He also lost his Bauchi Federal Constituency to the PRP.
