German woman to marry airplane she met six years ago

A German woman, Michele Köbke, has announced she would get married to a Boeing 737-800 airplane, she met six years ago.

According to Michele Köbke, it was love at first sight for the 30-year-old and her soon-to-be husband, who ‘met’ at Berlin Tegel airport back in 2014.

Michele remembers being overawed by the jet’s wings and thrusters, though since that first encounter, she has only been able to see him through glass – settling with cradling a smaller replica of ‘Schatz’ – German for darling – at night.

September last year, she was finally able to get her hands on her man, planting a big old kiss on the side of the 40-tonne aircraft. She said;

“The time in the hangar was the most beautiful moment of my life and when I was with him, we enjoyed our time together, we kissed and I caressed him.

“I plan to move into the hangar one day and my biggest dream is to be with ‘Schatz’ and to live with him.

“I also want to marry him in the hangar and spend the whole night with him.

“I wouldn’t want to put on a white dress, but dress really smartly with black trousers and a black blazer.”

The saleswoman’s bizarre relationship with the jet is an example of objectophilia, which is having a sexual or romantic attraction to an inanimate object.

It’s something Michele has been aware of since she took her first flight, back in November 2013. It was then that she realised she had a predilection for aeroplanes.

Despite not everyone being able to understand or accept their relationship, Michele doesn’t think there is anything wrong with it, claiming they are just like anyone else. She said;

“It’s like a normal relationship. We have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together.

“I wish it was more accepted in society, there are always people who don’t accept it. I’m simply different and I stand for my love to my 737.”
