Scripture:Â Colossians 1:18-26
Message: Different people have adopted different ways or means of getting to heaven. Such means include: personalities, names, religion, ideology, etc. However, from our passage today, it is glaringly clear that ONLY through Christ that ANYONE can make it to God or heaven. This is because God was pleased to reveal Himself in Christ Jesus who came from heaven to earth to save us from sin. He reconciled us to God by the cruel death He went through on the cross of Calvary. By shedding His blood, new life was transmitted to as many as would receive Him as their Lord and Saviour. Anglican Daily Fountain Devotional 23 February 2020
This sacrifice pleased God so much that He threw the door open to all who would mind to come to Him for cleansing. He makes us His children through Christ Jesus. Therefore, there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Friend, turn to Jesus now; surrender your life to Him. Your good deeds, philanthropy, religion, ideas or philosophies-nothing other than repenting from your sin and embracing Jesus Christ will take you to God (read Hebrews 2:14-18, 10:14, 19-23).
