Days after threatening lawsuit, purported video of Kano state governor allegedly receiving bribe surfaces online

On Thursday October 11th, the Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje, released a statement reacting to allegations by a news platform that they have in their possession, videos of the governor collecting bribes from state contractors to the tune of $5m.

In a statement released by the state commissioner of Information, Muhammad Garba, Governor Ganduje denied being the one in the video. He said that there is no iota of truth in the claims against him.

”We wish to state that there is no iota of truth to these allegations and if indeed there is any such alleged video, it is at best cloned. The government of Kano state is taking this matter seriously, and will exploit every appropriate and legal avenue to ensure that it gets to the root of the matter and the perpetrators are brought to book” the statement read

Today, a news platform, Daily Nigerian, released the purported video of the governor allegedly receiving bribes in dollars from one of the state contractors.
