On my way to church this morning, I noticed a child crying, looking so unkept, so tattered along the Akenfa road. I was so sure he was hungry, Infact he looked it, as a Fidan I knew this was another clarion call to service and luckily my understanding husband released me to attend to the child while he drove off to church with the kids.
Upon further interrogation with the child, after I bought biscuits for him, I found out his father stays at Igbogene with two other wives, his mother got lost in the bush and uptill date is no where to be found.
He claims his father drove him out of the house, looking at the state of the child, i took him to the only Goverment owned childrens home in the state, but was advised to get a police extrac at the poluce station. I took him to Akenfa police station and then to Igbogene police station and thereafter I called our chairperson.
We tried to contact the father, through his uncle but they have all refused to turn up.
The most touching part of it all is that he’s epileptic and the attack came at the police station.
I shall follow up again tomorrow at the police station, we shall get to the root of this matter, am sure we will get a better understanding of the child’s state when we see the father tomorrow. I will definitely update you my sisters.
