IPOB calls for panel to investigate killing of 38 pro-Biafra agitators

THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has called for an international panel of enquiry to investigate the killings of 38 pro-Biafra agitators by the Federal Government.

IPOB said the call came on the heels of its discovery of 38 dead bodies of slain Biafrans at Obiawom village, Ogwe Autonomous Community, in Asa, Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State.

In a statement signed by the media and publicity secretary of the group, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB explained that the killings were the outcome of the Operation Python Dance carried out by the Nigerian Army in the South East zone.

The group further called for the prosecution of those who participated in its instigation and execution of the Operation Python Dance such as Ohanaeze Ndigbo, South East governors as well as select Igbo elders and politicians.

“If anything, this cold blooded execution and unceremonious dumping of dead bodies in the forest by soldiers at Obiawom village in Ukwa West under the control of Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu is ample justification for the recent decision of IPOB to disengage from any further talks with Ohanaeze Ndigbo and South East governors until all issues surrounding the genocidal Operation Python Dance is cleared up.

“Had these number of murder victims been discovered in any Muslim country, region or part of the world, the International Criminal Court, ICC, United Nations, Britain, USA and the world media will be up in arms demanding explanation and holding the perpetrators accountable. But because these events are happening to Biafrans in Nigeria; where a government, along with her security operatives are aiding and protecting herdsmen and their kinsmen in the army from the consequences of the worst form of ethnically motivated genocide currently in Africa, the world remains deaf to the cries of IPOB.”
