Iran sends message to US amid war threats

Iran has reportedly sent words to the United States that it it doesn’t want war and would not carry out further attack on American targets.

CNN reports that Iran initiated contact through at least three back channels, including Switzerland and other countries.

There were “multiple messages and they were all the same,” a source said.

“Iran wanted to convey their retaliatory action had ended – and was waiting to see how the US would respond”.

In response, the US sought to communicate to Iran that its proxies in the region were of concern as the activities of the Iranian state, the sourced added.

Trump administration officials believe that Iran’s missiles intentionally missed areas populated by Americans when they targeted two Iraqi bases housing troops.

Iran launched the attack in retaliation for the American strike that killed top Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani last week.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump, said: “Iran appears to be standing down, which is a good thing for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world”.

Meanwhile, the US has expressed sadness over the crash of an Ukrainian plane in Iran.

The Boeing-737 with 180 people onboard went down near an airport in the capital, Tehran.
