Former Top Gear host Chris Evans has been caught up in more controversy after leaving the BBC show.
The presenter – who recently announced he was stepping down from his role on the motoring programme after a disappointing first season at the helm – has been spotted in an awkward situation on a recent journey.
Pictures published by The Sun show the star peeing into the bushes at the side of the M4 motorway, and swigging from what appears to bottle of brandy at 4pm.
In a statement to Mirror Online, Chris joked that his bladder isn’t as “robust as it once was”, and apologised if he had caused any offence.
He said: “Myself and several colleagues and friends had finished lunch in London and were travelling back to Berkshire in a private hire people carrier.
“For one reason or another, a journey that usually takes forty five minutes to an hour took almost twice that. My bladder not being as robust as it once was could no longer take the strain and I had to go.
“I apologise profusely if have caused anyone any offence and take full responsibility for the matter.”
It comes after his former co-star Rory Reid said working with Chris and Friends actor Matt LeBanc was incredibly difficult .
He told Redbull.com : “It was like being a soldier parachuted into a war.”
