The natural response of mankind to death is that of dread and morbid fear. Majority of the people are scared to discuss any issue relating to death. But this is not so with the great apostle, Paul. In today’s Fire Scripture, Apostle Paul describe the all-sweeping effects of the death of Jesus Christ for us which has completely cancelled the consequences of the sin of man. The truth is that every true child of God wants to please Him and live a life of holiness and relevance to the kingdom.
However, there are lots of challenges both within and without which are ready to hinder our walk with God. The greatest enemy to the victorious Christian life is the ļ¬esh. This is the adamic nature and the power of inbred sin which always manifest in form of adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, unloving attitude, anger, unfriendliness, evil imaginations, ungodly remarks, gluttony, quarrel etc.
These are the ladders the devil has been using to gain access into the believer’s life and to also weaken our commitment to the consecrated Christian life. The only way of victory is to follow the path of daily death just like the Apostle Paul.
To die daily means to daily say “no” to the inner cravings of the ļ¬esh, say “no” to unholiness, say “no” to ungodliness, say “no” to the alluring power of the world and everything that is sinful. The more you are able to overcome the pressures of temptation, the more you are becoming dead to the power and the oppression of the ļ¬esh.
Beloved, you cannot be a winner over the wicked forces confronting you if you are not willing to go through the daily experience of dying to self. This daily death is painful but it is the price you must pay if you want God to count you as a usable and a dependable vessel in this end times. May the Lord grant you the grace to die daily, in Jesusā name.
