When Jesus was accused of casting out demons by the prince of demons, He spoke to them in parables: “How can satan cast out satan. And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end” (Mark 3: 23b – 26).
The Scriptures above inspired the popular phrase: “Divided we fall; united we stand.” This adage is used to encourage unity among members of a group or family. Every family must give it a serious consideration in their bid to build a formidable front against the enemy. Any family that wishes to withstand the onslaught of the wicked one against their progress must be united in Christ.
The strategy of “Divided we fall,” is well understood and utilised by the enemy to carry out his work of destruction in families. Have you noticed a pattern in your family line that is not normal? Have you noticed a pattern in your family which does not glorify the name of the Lord and you desire a change?
Sadly enough, some people out of ignorance actually accept as fate or destiny anything that runs in their families, whether good or bad. They will tell you that it is the will of God. They accept it as the will of God and live with it till they die and pass on the same fate to their offspring, and from generation to generation. They are made to believe that it is a hopeless situation; and nothing can be done to change it.
Today, God will open your eyes to understand that it ought not to be so because in Jeremiah 29:11, He says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
