Outline
We have addressed a few serious issues in recent devotional studies on the tragic state of affairs in the world and in theChurch. The devil has swallowed lots of people.Yet, many are enveloped by a deep spiritual sleep as is to be noted in the story of a certain man who was sleeping when a preacher was preaching.

When the preacher asked anyone that wanted to go to hell fire to stand up, the man who had been sleeping, woke up and stood up. He found that he was the only one standing up. Everybody was surprised. He was sleeping when the major part of the sermon was going on. With his sleep, he only heard part of the statement of the preacher when said stand up. It was those two words that he heard that made him to stand up.

A person who wears a mask becomes a stranger even to himself. It is possible to see somebody holding a pen and a book in his hands in the church, as if he is writing, yet he is sleeping and you will not know. He is wearing a mask. Such a person will say, Amen! in the wrong places. The Lord likes people such as the blind man in John 9, who was healed by Him. Being blind, he did not even know the Man who healed him.

When Jesus met him later in the temple and asked him saying, “Believeth you the Son of man?” He said, “Who is the Lord that I may believe him?” He did not know and he was quite honest to admit it. When Jesus’ enemies told him that the man who opened his eyes was a sinner, he said, “I know that God heareth not sinners.” They shouted at him to shut up and asked if he now wanted to teach them the Bible. “This man did something wrong; why should He heal you on the Sabbath day?” they said. The man who was healed said, “It is wonderful that a sinner could open blind eyes,” and they threw him out.

Today’s devotion sends to us a serious caution. It is that we must get rid of what the Bible calls the mixed multitudes syndrome and re-examine our spiritual status to see if we are one of the strangers in the temple.

Motivational Quote
There is a spiritual force behind every battle. Tackle the power behind and you will win the war with ease.

Prophetic Word
The zero shall become the hero.

HYMN
O Jesus, I have promised

O Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
Be Thou forever near me, my Master and my Friend;
I shall not fear the battle if Thou art by my side,
Nor wander from the pathway if Thou wilt be my Guide.

O let me feel Thee near me! The world is ever near;
I see the sights that dazzle, the tempting sounds I hear;
My foes are ever near me, around me and within;
But Jesus, draw Thou nearer, and shield my soul from sin.

O let me hear Thee speaking in accents clear and still,
Above the storms of passion, the murmurs of self will.
O speak to reassure me, to hasten or control;
O speak, and make me listen, Thou Guardian of my soul.

O Jesus, Thou hast promised to all who follow Thee
That where Thou art in glory there shall Thy servant be.
And Jesus, I have promised to serve Thee to the end;
O give me grace to follow, my Master and my Friend.
