TOPIC: The COVID-19 Model Prediction: They Are Not Your God (1)

PSALM 33 : 1-1
Message: In early 2020, the Corona Virus, the causative agent of Covid-19 took the whole world like a storm! At that time, there was a concern among experts all over the world that countries in Africa could be hit hard with high rates of transmission that could quickly overwhelm the health care systems of the continent. After about a year into the pandemic, millions of people have been infected, with death rates exceeding a million persons worldwide. Fortunately, and to the surprise of the whole world, most African countries have fared significantly better than other parts of the world.
The reasons are still a mystery to medical experts. Some people have started conducting studies with a view to unraveling this mystery. Dr Sam Agatre Okuonzi who works at Arua Regional Reference Hospital in Northern Uganda said in a WHO briefing in September 2020, “The initial disease prediction models predicted that by September 2020, there would be 600,000 cases of Covid-19 and 30,000 deaths, but the reality is starkly different.”
According to John Hopkins University tally in September 2020, Uganda had 7,064 reported coronavirus cases and 70 deaths. South Africa, the hardest hit country on the continent, had recorded 665,000 cases and 16,206 deaths. That represents about 28 deaths/100,000 people, compared to more than 61 deaths/100,000 in the United States. Even though other countries in Africa such as Nigeria, Ethiopia and Algeria had struggled with bigger outbreaks than Uganda, most countries on the continent have succeeded in containing the spread of the virus.
The Holy Ghost wants you to know that: People’s opinion of you does not matter because – ONLY GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY CONCERNING YOUR DESTINY! A billion enemies or foes may speak, plan and prophesy against you; but see Lamentations 3: 37: “Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?” NOBODY! NOBODY!! NOBODY!!!
No wonder Verse 10 of today’s scripture says: “The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: He maketh the devices of the people of none effect.” That is what makes Him your MAKER and your God. He specializes in bringing the counsel of the heathen to nought and watch out – that will be your story in Jesus name! Pray now!
