Scripture Union Daily Guide – 6th December 2022 MESSAGE

Note the warning and assurance that Jesus gave His disciples and us in Mark 13:9‐11. That has been the experience of Paul in the past few days. It is worth noting that Paul’s concern was not to plead for King Agrippa to release him but rather to present the gospel to him and his entourage by sharing the testimony of his conversion and calling.

Paul focused on his mission even in the midst of challenges. Paul exhibited tremendous courage in presenting the gospel on every occasion. He saw it here as an opportunity to let King Agrippa hear about repentance from sin and the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are often intimidated in the presence of people in high positions but we should ask the Holy Spirit to give us courage to tell those the Lord brings our way about Jesus and His power to save. Now take time to think through Paul’s conversion story and compare it with yours.

Your conversion may not have been as dramatic as Paul’s but is your present lifestyle a proof of an encounter with Jesus? Even though your conversion story may differ from Paul’s, true conversion does not remain unnoticed.

Practice/Word Application
And So: Is your present life a testimony and proof of an encounter with Jesus?
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Dear Lord, give me the courage to speak boldly of my relationship with You.

PRAYER FOCUS
ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

But one thing is needful and mary has chosen the good part…
Luke 10:42

THANK GOD FOR:
☀ The presence of God daily and His willingness to teach all His children who care to sit at His feet and listen to Him.
☀ SU brethren who rely on Him and His word and have made Him their hope and salvation, hence listen to Him daily.

PRAY FOR:
☛ More brethren as they learn to sit and listen to the Saviour’ s word daily in their quiet time, family devotion.
☛ Readiness to believe what the Lord will teach us daily, despite the contrary teachings that abound lately.
☛ Complete obedience as we delight in God’ s precept and live our lives in accordance with it.

PRAY AGAINST:
⚠ Rebellion against God’s word as we see lately among our youths and even in some adults.
⚠ Failing to be reconciled to Christ or confess the Lordship which has made many to fall away from the faith.
