Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 24 July 2023
Consider the contrasts Paul outlines between worldly wisdom and the wisdom of God in vs.7-9. The wisdom of man will deny the power of God over the happenings in the world. God’s wisdom involves facts that can be known though not by natural reasoning but by a revelation from God Himself (v.9). Reflecting further on the emptiness of worldly wisdom, Paul noted that Jesus would not have been crucified had the leaders the right knowledge.
Thank God that today we can access salvation through the cross, courtesy of their ignorance. God turned their wisdom to our own gain. See how James compared and contrasted these two kinds of wisdom in James 3:13-17. How can we access the wisdom of God according to James 1:5; cf. 2 Chronicles 1:7-12?
Paul further exhorts that we have received the Spirit of God to fully understand God’s plan for us. Have you had this experience? Open your heart unto God so He can fill you with His Spirit. Read and reflect on the relevance of being filled with the Spirit of God as stated in v.14.

What next? Read v.13 again and pray that this would be true of you, your pastor and Bible teacher. Meditate on this verse throughout today.
